First Edition Roof Rack Assembly and Install (2 parts)

@DctrEvil do you have more photos of how the rack was packaged by any chance? I’m going to ship mine to someone and I’d love to see how the pros did it!
The first photo at the top of this thread shows how amazingly Westcott Designs shipped the rack. They are real pros and have an expanding foam packing machine, so it was the real deal! I just shipped my roof rails and crossbars to an out of state buyer, via UPS and I packed with multiple layers of bubble wrap and then slid into a long box. It arrived just fine, good luck !

You are a Godsend! I just picked up a takeoff roof rack from a forum member here and was searching for the install instructions online! Thank you so much Sir!

Thanks @Dr Bob . But I was looking for a way to buy just one additional crossbar for the FE roof rack. Likely not available from Toyota so was hoping to learn who the rack manufacturer is.
You can buy an extra slat now. I just got and installed mine today. They are still scarce or back ordered so I think I waited for mine about 2.5 weeks after ordering and before it shipped. I think I paid ~$70 for mine.

Wow, thank you for this...Where did you get the x-bar mounting screws or do the screws come with the x-bar?
The mounting screw comes with the OEM rack (it covers the pre-drilled, pre tapped, hole for the missing cross bar) so all you need to do is unscrew it, put the new crossbar in place and re-tighten original screw.

Thank you...that's very interesting Toyota did that...glad I don't need to source the screws for my OEM installed rack (y)
