Also have been verbally confirmed by our dealer that I am 1st on the list. However, a small and honest dealer, and they will not accept a deposit until Toyota allows ordering on their system. So, on the 1st of August we can drool over the models and features. For sure, I will keep pestering them...

They have always sold at MSRP, or in some instances in the past with a discount. I am not expecting below MSRP on the LC, but conversely, not anticipating above. During the past shortage of vehicles they never tacked on anything above MSRP. Well, they did talk our daughter into window tinting on a Camry, be she actually needed it, residing in Las Vegas. We are in SE Idaho. What I REALLY like about the dealer is free unlimited washes for the life of the vehicle, no strings, no tips, just drive through. In the winter they are desperately needed, with our snow.

Hey, I even have the wife's approval! How can I lose? We presently have a 2021 Highlander, but I wish to have something to again get on the backroads. Sadly and admittedly not as great off-roading here in SE Idaho as rural Nevada where we previously lived, but will give it a shot.

Man, it's hard to find quality dealerships around here. Everyone is looking to make a quick buck and not earn a customer for life. I'm glad to hear there are still some honest, good dealerships around!

We are in a relatively small town, small enough that word-of-mouth can be a killer for a disreputable dealership. Our Toyota dealer also sells Jeep and Ram (both Stellantis companies, and that is another story).

There are a lot of small town dealerships doing good doing internet sales and steep discounts with good customer service. I don't mind flying out to another state to get a good deal on a vehicle and driving it home. Neither does @supersix, I know he's done it a few times!

My only reservation is breaking it in on a long Interstate drive home. Did this once with a Ford Bronco, Chicago to Las Vegas, and it consumed oil henceforth. This could be especially problematic with a hybrid, as they do their best to keep the same RPM, regardless of speed. When our Las Vegas daughter purchased a Camry here, I put the first several hundred miles on locally...

I've done many highway break ins on vehicles that are brand new. I just manually down shift a gear or two every once in a while so the RPM doesn't stay consistent. I've never had a problem! Them rings will seat right!

I did that with the Bronco, without success. However, it was a FORD! Don't even ask me about my luck with Ford Diesel trucks. Thank goodness for lemon lawyers! However, had good luck with Ford Escorts as college cars for our daughters.

Gosh, don't remember, a long time ago. It was a full-sized Bronco, if you recall those? Purchased it considerably cheaper in Detroit. However, once drove several hundred miles into Utah to save $50 on a VW Beetle. It was more a matter of principal, as the Las Vegas dealer would not come down the $50 to match. Burned through three Bugs, and loved every one of them. I could do a valve adjustment in a matter of minutes.

The new Coyote motor variants are having oil consumption issues. Lots of guys complaining about it and Ford has issued TSB's on it but it's just a nuisance really. The motors are still doing really well. Hell, there are guys making 1000 hp on them. Very impressive motors.
