Break-in period

Lake Speed Jr is amazing..
I agree. The 26 minute mark is where they discuss oil interval changes but the entire discussion is interesting and worth watching in my opinion because you get a better in-depth understanding of what is happening early on in the engine break in period. Toyota branded oil is Mobile 1 synthetic for anyone wondering. As a side note, I've been running 0w20 Mobile 1 synthetic in an Acura MDX with 270,000 miles on it with 10,000 mile oil intervals for the 230,000 miles i've owned it. It barely uses any oil between changes and purrs like a champ. I will be treating this 4 cylinder turbo charged engine differently with shorter intervals, mainly due to the turbo and wanting to extend it's life. It shouldn't be a huge deal to replace the turbo on these engines compared to the 6 cylinder twin turbos on the GX550 but I still want to increase the life expectancy of it.

I mean they may not be running the regular ECU/hybrid controller programming at port. I am sure there are different modes mechanics can put turns the car in where the engine does not turn off.
Yes, even though cars leave factory in transport mode, Port is equipped to do almost anything that is necessary to ready the car for dealer. Like sausage, better off not knowing what they do, just assume they took great care with it. I'm going to smell my oil now for gasoline- "idling for 20 hours"

I bought Mobil 1 synthetic from Costco. Now I see that there is a Mobil 1 Synthetic for hybrid cars. I wonder if we should be using the ‘hybrid specific’ Mobil 1 Synthetic motor oil.

What grade?

Mobile 1 0W-20 at Costco.. The stuff I saw at Auto Zone was also 0W-20 Mobil 1 Synthetic.. but meant for hybrid powertrains. So Hybrid oil must be formulated differently, for hybrids (?).. IDK 🤷
IDK but it seems it's just a marketing poly. My thought is.....an internal combustion engine is an internal combustion engine, it doesn't know if it's hooked to a normal transmission/power train or a hybrid transmission/power train.

Some ICE's are close tolerance and require thinner oil blends, others have looser tolerances and require thicker oil blends. Detergent packages are different, depending on the manufacture, and what the manufacturer is trying to achieve with the package...... ie...... break-in oil may have higher zinc content due to the new metal surfaces having a higher friction until broken in etc....... Just my opinion.
