2” fully lifted kit

After installing Frontrunner Drawer system + fridge slider in the trunk, and steel front bumper+1.2K lbs winch in the front, I decided to do “fully lifted” for the LC. I now got 2” lifted rear (actually 1.75” because of 125 lbs drawer system) and leveled the front to the rear.

The lift kit: TC (Total Chaos) upper control arm + 2.5” dia adjustable King shocks, and Dobinsons 2” lift springs (rear, 170-330 lbs constantly additional weight)

Currently I have 33” KO3 (275/70R18), and the run is great. Very happy with this upgrade for my off-road and on road use. I probably have 35” tires soon ;) to gain 1” more clearance.

Note: (I still have 3” clear to my garage opening to accommodate 35” tire;)
Just installed rear shock skids (plates) to protect the lowest hanging parts of LC. I had same this kind of skids for my Gwagon

How are your mods coming ?
I will be soon list out/share all the mods/loves that I put on my LCFE since last August…will be longggg list 😜
I have been holding off on the mods until I am sure of what aftermarket setup I want to go with. I don't want to do what I did with my 4Runner and rush into it and then change my mind. $$$$
Other than tires and wheels that is.

Make sense…

I met many people in parking lots and gas stations, my LC got too much attentions and many great thump ups, conversations / comments ;) Now, I am living with that 😜 . Next/soon will be on trails…

Happy LC to you and all

Updated: 35” (Falken Wildpeak AT 35/11.5 R18). No rub, not cut, no trim but 2” fully lifted as shown in earlier post

Also, I want to share the shovel setup with MOLLE side panel ( Agency 6 mini Aluminum shovel: super light weight/strong and proudly America made ;)
Just wanted to clarify, since I was planning on just getting Dobinsons 2” front and back springs: did you lift the back 2” then level the front to the back, meaning the front is actually lifted higher than 2”?

Or, is that a 2” lift front and back from stock.

Thanks :)

I posted this 2” lifted system before. However, I re-post here again to answer your questions, but also for others who are interested on.

My goal:
• 2” lifted rear with extra loads (“permanent” 1705-330lbs = drawer system+ fridge slider+ some off-road recovery gears)
• Not only proper fit 35” tires, but also improve on-road + off-road performance with extra 2” lifted = longer travel

Solution:
• Dobinson rear 2” lifted springs ( replace the OEM springs) There are many spring rates, but I chose the one can have 2” lifted (with minimum / no sage) after 170-330 lbs
• Total Chaos upper control arm to accommodate longer travel of new Kings shocks and wider stand of tires
• Kings shocks 2.5” dia, adjustable (firm to soft ), rear and front links. The front shock has coil/ spring that can lift front up to 3”

After 2” lifted rear, the front lifted 2.75” to level with rear. ( before lifted, front 0.75” lower than rear)
I also added 1” wheel spacers to push OEM +60mm offset out to be +35mm.
Generally, when you raise / lift vehicle higher, you need to get wider stand for stabilization

General, ENTIRE OEM suspension were replaced ;)

My LCFE now run as “dream” 😜 😜

Any tips on the instal of the shock skids? I did a quick “dry fit” of them last night and it appears a bit tricky installing the mounting hardware. Not much room to hold the nuts in place. Did you remove the wheels to install? Just asking for any tips before I install this weekend.
Yes. Without taking off the tires, It is a bit awkward to get the upper/inner bolts through. However, I managed with small patience and got them done without removing tires.
I installed the 2 lower bolts 1st, then flipped it up for the top 2 bolts.

I still have much room between rear tires and the skid plates. Mine are OEM wheel +60mm with 1” spacers. It means +35mm offset

Yep, the shock skids fit nicely. I did remove the tires which gave me a bit more room. Nice protection for my new Radflo shocks.

That looks great and with 35s it'll look even meaner. I am deciding between the TC w/ Kings or ICON Vehicle Dynamics. It's a tough one as they are a bit different. I had the Stage 7 ICON lift on my 2010 4Runner that was amazing but the heim joints were not the best thing for a daily driver. I have the Carli Pintop lift with Kings on my F-350 which is also great. Man, it's so hard to decide how to reduce my total networth. lol :ROFLMAO:
Fox, King, Elka, Bilstein and Icon were all tested in this full review series shoot out.

Definitely trade offs with spacers, but they can help with tire clearance and aftermarket control arms. What's your plan when you go to 35s? Anxious for pics!
Spacers are more likely to cause issues fitting 35s because they increase the scrub radius of your wheel. Plus, the further you space out, the more likely the wheel will not tuck up inside the wheel arch under full compression/articulation. Tinkerer's Adventure has a great video showing all the details. Of course, it's not as simple whey you change both the offset and width of the rim.

They just released the series on mid-priced suspensions, too. Great stuff. How satisfied are you with your King set-up? Do you notice a difference on- or off- road? The stock suspension tends to feel very firm to me when I hit bumps at highway speeds. I'm wondering if the King's smooth things out a bit and make the ride less harsh. Thank you for sharing all the pics and info!

TC+ King shocks make me loving my LC more ;) Worth the pricey $ for that system. Very happy with it!

I was sold on the Dobinsons MRR until the video yesterday. What is going on there? Do they have them on wrong vehicle or are settings all wrong? I guess we wait for the next test they say they are going to do on Dobinsons because it was so surprisingly bad.
