I did this…. Maybe a touch more noise on first drive or two (could have been placebo) but not noticeable since.
Mpg took a slight hit around 0.5-1 mpg. That could also be caused by me coming out of the break in period and doing a lot more of 75-85 mph on freeway va 65-70 during break in period.
Yeah I think a warning will pop up on the dash that says glass open and you can shut it up by pressing okay button (that or the back button, I can’t remember for sure but it tells you what to press)
Have always thought that trim piece looked kinda ugly and would love to turn it into another storage spot… I use your cooler box storage tray and would be in for an order on this idea too
As a follow up, I ordered this and decided to install myself as the San Diego shop I reached out to wanted $300+ to do it and I didn’t want to use 3-4 hours to go from San Diego to la to have beat sonic do it for $100.
I’ve got very little experience with this stuff (my first time doing...
Looking forward to hearing how it impacts road noise and mileage. Did you have anything on the roof before? I have the fe rack which is awesome for utility but bad for noise.
Hey folks just fyi i decided to keep the rack. Was going to swap to cross bars to help with wind noise but from what I’ve heard there isn’t much of a difference. That said I like the functionality of the roof rack a bit more
I have a ms Lc and considered blacking out too after seeing a white one with it blacked out, but I think it matches the Ms color well so I kept it as is
Great set up - I have an MS FE and love the nori green overtrail.
I asked my wife if she would be down for the gx but she’s more of a crossover gal (x5, cayenne, etc)
I did but I returned them. They felt kind of cheap / flimsy and I didn’t like how the pattern was so different than the oem cargo mat. I know the canvas back design is different too, but prefer the look.
And they will sell just the 2nd row backs too! I did that for mine since I use the LC for surfing and going to the beach, so those backs get sandy.
Here’s a pic with the poocher in the trunk post hike.
