I had this one (4 bike model, they also have a 2 bike model) on a 4Runner I used to have. It was amazing. Their support was also amazing - I spotted a small crack in a weld at the hitch and they sent me an entire new rack free of charge. The new one worked flawlessly, hauling 4 bikes from PA to...
I've only seen one other (an LC LC) in my little town of podunk, nowhere in PA, but on a trip back from Gettysburg to State College there were 3 of us in a line on the highways for that whole stretch. It was cool!
I watched someone with one in Pittsburgh try to parallel park in South Side. It was hilarious. We were right behind them and after about 3 minutes of not being able to figure it out they sped off. There was a small crowd on the street too. Those things are ridiculous!
My JLU was the same way - it folded down a fixed distance, no matter how you adjusted the seats. It should be said though that the JLU back seats fully reclined didn't really change much.
There have been a lot of vehicles by a lot of manufacturers that have this functionality to improve fuel economy. Some it happens automatically, others you can control it. That article clip reads like a "worst-case scenario the sky is falling your car is going to die in 3 miles of eco mode it's...
That's really poor customer service - if they packaged it badly enough that parts were lost then they should replace them at their cost, then work with the shipper themselves to get reimbursed.
This is awesome news! I love the look and aesthetic of the FE roof rack and wanted to keep and use mine too - this is perfect. Now I just have to figure out what I'd put on it!
I really like the stuff that Rago is making, but my only hesitancy is that the brush guard is a bolt-on held on by what looks like 4 bolts (two on each side from the picture). To me, that doesn't seem like it would be strong enough to take a deer hit without folding straight backward.
Any...
I've been under 25-30mph for hours on trails going up and down the mountains, all off-road or forest roads. These trips usually last 3-4 hours, average probably twice a week or so. I'd venture a guess that the average speed during those times is 15-25 mph.
I've been up and down several steep hills in the PA Wilds region on 3-4 hour gravel road/trail outings, regularly drive I-80 around Clearfield where it hits the highest point, all in 4HI, no issues. The climb around Clearfield is many miles long, is pretty much a long steady climb, and I've done...
The age-old question of "how can I get more speed and power but still have great fuel economy and not need premium fuel". I'm sure there will be aftermarket upgrades coming out, but speed and power always come at a price. Always.
This. (y)
If you put it in park and take your foot off the brake pedal before the eBrake is engaged it can cause a "clunk" the next time you go to drive it when you shift from park to drive.
I understand that others may not like the wind noise, and have no issue with that, but as an FE owner coming from a JLU soft top I could put a giant box made of kazoos on my FE roof rack with all the windows down and the sunroof open - and it would still be quieter than the JLU.
I had the Quantum Elite wiper blades; they worked great.
I get over towards Williamsport for work (company is based out of Watsontown). Love the PA Wilds!
Thought I'd post up on my thoughts after 4000 miles. For background, I'm coming from a '18 JLU Sahara MT that I bought new and had for 110,000 miles.
Overall, I love this vehicle and am very happy to be back in the Toyota gang. Previous Toyotas included a couple of Tundras, a 4Runner, a Rav4...
Tire changes from what comes stock are an upgrade. Did the optional upgrade specify the spare tire? Most places I've dealt with never quote the spare when replacing tires, you have to specifically ask for it to be included. I'd review the option content and check with the dealer.
