I couldn’t agree more! This board has been super helpful for me. I’m a newbie car guy and have gotten a lot of useful tips on maintenance and care from this group. Also a lot of non judgmental info as I’m an LC owner who mostly won’t be using the car “for its intended purpose” but use it as my...
Almost at 1k miles in San Diego, averaging around 20 mpg. About what I expected and tbh would 3 mpg more be nice? Sure. Does it take away from how cool I think this car is, not really.
3 mpg delta on 12k miles a year and $6 premium gas (high end) is an annual difference of $470. Not nothing...
Nice! How do you compare each? I really love the x5 but went LC because it checks more boxes for me now - larger family hauler that I don’t mind getting dirty with young kids, dogs, and my active outdoor lifestyle (surfing, mountain biking, hiking, etc).
I would love to add an x5 to the quiver...
I bought this and put it on today when I had my mountain bike on the back - still screamed at me. Maybe I didn’t plug it in correctly? I plugged in the round side.
I also turned off parking brake assist and hit tow haul mode - just fyi - and still screaming / beeping
This is my first time doing tint and ppf.. I read a Reddit forum about different options for “higher end” shops and ended up reaching out to - elite finishes, one on one, and Mr tint.
Elite finishes was most expensive and we’re using a tint and ppf that was fairly new / unproven. One on one...
I haul myself to work (many times with my surfboard), me my family and dog all around (city, beach, hiking, mtns, mtn biking) etc and I couldn’t find a car that checked all those boxes plus reliable and fuel efficient like the LC did.
I do agree that it loses some juice in between 20-40/45 and I do think a bigger engine would help with that. I was coming from 15ish years of German cars although lower level ones (base model a4 and recently base model q5), so the driving experience has def taken some getting used to.
I also...
Getting some on mine Tuesday, will be my first time. Figure I invested in a solid car that’s meant to last a long time why not spend a little more to keep it pristine externally during that timeframe. Isn’t the most “fun” use of money as Id rather get new wheels and tires, but again think it’s a...
Fwiw I’ve found the powertrain to smooth out as I’ve driven mine more. Also I deflated tires to recommend level and that made a huge difference in ride quality. Imagine putting even bigger tires with more sidewall would help more so. I personally wish it was the hybrid v6 from the tundra (sans...
I daily drive my LC and 3 days a week I commute 25 miles each way down the freeway from north county San Diego to downtown.
Once on the freeway I through on adaptive cruise control and just let the car do the rest. It breaks, speeds up, helps steer and in traffic it does a really good job too...
Do you not want your knees to touch the side? I feel like no matter how wide the front seat is I will naturally take all the room available and rest my knees on the sides.
Fwiw I’m 6’1 and about 180lbs and I think it’s well proportioned. Roomy but not overall big that makes daily driving it a...
I’ll likely look into an aftermarket roof rack that is better for fuel efficiency and wind noise at some point.. may even go roof cross bars at some point instead. I’ll really only put up my surfboard, snowboard, and maybe a Thule rack down the road.
I will say the stock fe rack was really...
I hear wind noise first kick up at around 45 mphs and then much more pronounced (still not crazy loud) at highway speeds. I have stock fe roof rack and stock tires (Michelin).
Road surface wise it doesn’t seem to make a difference, but I live in coastal Southern California near estuaries and...
