If you don't wheel much it likely won't be too much of an issue, but that would drive me batty if I had to look at that placement all the time (I'd move it, but I'm rather detail oriented... I guess in a bad way lol).
Are you sure it's not that the first rains have brought the oil up/off the roadway? I haven't had mine in any significant rain yet, but the Falken AT3Ws I briefly had on my 4Runner were excellent in regard to hydroplaning, and I was hoping these Toyos would be similar.
Thank you for that, this has been driving me crazy as well, esp. since 'ACC mode' isn't defined in the menu where it is turned off/on.
I wonder how this affects usage of the 2400w inverter, if at all?
I'll have to check, as I don't think there was an 'off' setting (like for locking the car); I believe mine is already at the lowest setting (and it's still LOUD!).
My second offroad excursion with the Land Cruiser was a whirlwind for some fall leaves, and although I thought I might be a bit early, the leaves were scorching in central CO. This 4-day trip would have me traverse:
Weston Pass
Independence Pass
(to Grizzly Lake)
Cottonwood Pass
Kebler Pass...
Rock rails bolt into a different place (frame) than the running boards (sheet metal). I'd retain the bolts and fill the holes if I were you. I'd bet that a vehicle that came without the RRs or RBs would have the bolts installed, though I have no way of confirming.
Considering how slow Toyota is with updating their 'tech' features, the LC will probably be like a mammoth frozen in a glacier before Toyota does anything about it.
It certainly could be better software-wise (esp. re: turning off sensor warnings, remembering settings), but for those who only...
They need to sell their ARB Twin compressor mounting bracket separately. That's a stupid 'bundle' price for a piece of metal (works out to ~$400 for a bracket).
285/70r18 fit on a +40-ish offset wheel with no rubbing under full compression and turning, no lift. Haven't heard of too many 285/75s being used un-lifted, but I'd hazard a guess they barely fit with the right offset wheel (probably +45 to +35). Or just get 70s and not flip that coin.
Welcome, and congrats! You didn't say how you plan to use your new LC, so my first question would be why lift it 2.5"? Generally, any lift is going to sacrifice suspension performance somewhere, and compared to the outgoing Tacomas and 4Runners, it's no longer needed to fit larger tires (up to...
Hey thanks, it's been super-fun to get her out there! Bummed we're getting into winter (not a snow-wheeler, those dudes are nuts!).
I wanted the AT4Ws, but I just couldn't fathom the weight(s) of their tires. Some of Falken's data out there is nonsensical and I question its accuracy (same size...
That's the exact combo I have, and it works perfectly. No rubbing whatsoever, crash plates retained (yes, full compression/turning, front and rear), might poke out maybe <1/2" more than stock, but unnoticeable. It's a great combo for people who don't want to overpay for the Tundra/Sequoia TRD...
