Has anyone noticed that when the car is stop at traffic light (engine idel), the car's revs become unstable, suddenly rising as if someone were pushing the car. I suspect it is related to turning off/on the A/C compressor.

Which engine choice does yours have. Your profile shows china. The LC in America is a hybrid and they shut off when stopped. The AC on the American units are electric.

Thanks for your replied. Im in Hong Kong, my car brought from Japan without start/stop function.

I’ve noticed when idling in P on a steep slope the engine will sound as if pedal is to metal (noticed when hopping out to check clearance over obstacles). Never did find an answer as it why it does that, or why sometimes after pushing hard in 4lo the engine starts making a chirping sound like the belt is slipping or something. Whatever, still drives!

I have not noticed this while offroad. Have noticed some odd idling behavior in the city, but nothing alarming. You should try to record the chirping.

I have not any noise during idling, just the rev had fluctuation look like is the a/c comperssor start or stop. And feeling like somone push my car lightly. My car's engine is 2700cc petrol.
