Have you installed diff breather kit yet? This is my first full-time 4WD and this platform is relatively new, so need to look into how many breathers the LC actually needs run higher.
Been waiting for Slee to get this to market, as I wasn't so enamored with the CAtuned mounting location. Definitely a complex piece of bracket (shows how over-priced the relatively simple CAtuned bracket is $375 vs. $300), but I'd much rather have the compressor not buried so that it receives a...
The kick sensor on our RAV4 Prime never worked well enough to want to use it, it's like you have to use some advanced Rockettes dance kick to get it to work. Pffft.
Um, a rear view mirror is an integral aspect of a vehicle's safety, assuming of course a driver is competent enough to know to use them. You're asserting that people should drive without them? To save a dime or two?
Welcome! Did you drive the '24 Tacoma with hybrid? Curious how it was different, if so. Several reviewers have noted that the engine responded differently than the LC.
Weight of the Tacoma wheel is 28.75 lbs, measured by myself prior to installation. It was just under 1 pound less than stock mid-trim wheel (I weighed also), and if I recall correctly just less than a pound heavier than the stratospherically-priced Tundra/Sequoia TRD BBS forged wheel.
Received the Weathertechs today, and they have much, much better coverage for snowy/wet environments. The stock mats left much to be desired around the gas pedal, where snow would have gotten on the carpet constantly. I also like the one-piece rear mat that goes over the center plastic hump.
Not sure what you mean '5 wheel tire'. I went with 285s on the new wheels, retained the stock spare wheel and put a 275 on it, since it barely fit where the spare goes (285 absolutely will not fit with an 18" wheel, and anyone who says it does likely doesn't have it mounted flush to the...
1Up standard (2 trays) here, it's way more solid (offroad) than the Kuat NV I used for years, though Kuat does make good racks. It also slopes upward a bit and drags less.
Of course any given tire would need to be at the optimal pressure to prevent hydroplaning to the extent possible under a given set of conditions. The assertion that the equation applies to all tires equally is simply... well, wrong. That would imply that a bald tire would perform identically to...
I changed the ACC setting so the radio stays on when turning off the vehicle, but if you open the door, the radio immediately turns off. :( I was hoping to be able to have the radio continue playing when pumping gas (or whatever), but looks like it may not work.
It really depends on how wide a tire you're going to install; 35 would stick out a bit further, but with a narrow (stock) tire it would likely not be very noticeable. With a wide tire it would be noticeable.
Forgive my ignorance on this one, but what are these 'upgraded' mudflaps used for, or how are they substantively different from stock? I've never replaced stock mudflats on a vehicle I've owned (though have nearly torn one off).
It's the perfect size tire, but I'm at a big fat 17.8 mpg at the moment (last 3000 miles). I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around how anyone can average 22-ish in this vehicle, and I didn't have the stock tires on long enough to know what it was, other than it certainly wasn't 20+ mpg. I...
