1. Hybrid battery will maintain the 12v battery when vehicle is off, but only if the hybrid battery can also maintain enough charge to start the vehicle.
4. i don't remember seeing a 20A plug in my LC, can you share a photo?
5. The vehicle starts using the electric motor/hybrid battery first...
I did this yesterday when trying to grab something that slid all the way to the back of the cargo hatch. The plastic piece flexed more than I was comfortable with, but didn’t break or deform.
I think the suggested weight limit is below what the piece will withstand before breaking.
They ship without covers on the holes. I just confirmed with a friend in engineering, they never designed any part to cover the holes since water intrusion or corrosion was not a concern
Took the roof crossbars off my LC. I know I’ll never use the roof rack, I tried to get them removed from the build but it was too late.
Asking $250 + shipping. Includes the install kit as well.
Traded my LC Premium running boards for @Ed1 's Rock Rails! They were delivered today and I just put them on. Loving the way they look, and now I'm all ready for an off roading day on Aug 10 with some friends.
yeah definetly on the extreme end - more common is 3-6 hours. The point is that modern engines don't require the same old break in cautions. You could take a brand new vehicle from right off the assembly line and drive it cross country at 75mph without turning it off once, and it would be fine.
I posted the full instructions, including bumper removal and headlight initialization in another thread as well.
Land Cruiser Trim headlight swap to First Edition Lights
Yep there’s only one plug. The vehicle side has all of the pinning enabled, and the headlight side will only have the pins they need. The initialization process in one of the PDFs I posted tells the vehicle which version of the lights are installed
Yep, its common. Idling or keeping steady RPMs is not going to hurt your engine long term. Like I said earlier, the break in period is largely irrelevant for modern engines. It’s left over from when manufacturing tolerances were not as good. You can leave your engine idling for a week straight...
I've been to both the SET port facilities and GST facilities on tours when i started at Toyota years ago. The cars being actively worked on are sitting idling while they're installing accessories and during the quality checks. Its easier for distributor install team to leave them running instead...
The wiring harness and connectors are the same. The dealers saying its not plug and play have clearly not looked at the repair manuals in TIS. There are two separate sections, but the removal and installation steps are literally identical because the wiring harnesses and mounting points are...
Had to phone another engineer friend - the part number for the male connector with the plugs is 82821-30600. not sure why TIS shows the wrong part number.
For people with a 1958 in Dallas or surrounding areas- I'd really like to take my roof rails and cross bars off but will need your delete kits to replace them. Would love to meet up and make that happen.
