This is a good list. Youād have to factor in the increased cost of the GX on comparably positioned trims as well. The GX is around a year of in-state college tuition more expensive, if that gives you a sense of my thought process.
I also have a deposit down on a GX. I might end up in a Land Cruiser instead though, because:
- GX seem to be unobtainium around here. I made my deposit in January and I donāt have an allocation yet. Dealer says heās seeing one, maybe two Overtrail models a month. So timeline is totally...
A challenge on some of these screens is that theyāre mounted prominently and with nothing to shield from the sunlight. So glare is the issue.
My daughterās RAV4 is bad too - I actually just bought an anti-glare overlay for her and put it on last weekend. I could tell that it created a bit of...
I would never advise someone to place a deposit on anything without a price agreement in place behind it. Seems like the seller has all the leverage in that situation.
But in the event you do, I agree the price would be negotiable at the table because, by definition, you would not be reneging...
Iām keeping my eye on a couple in-stock units that have shown up at Denver dealers. A few said āsale pendingā from before they arrived, others appear to be available.
I wonder a bit if the 4Runner release announcement hasnāt frozen a few buyers who are waiting for that vehicle to decide...
It is poor form to try to further negotiate a deal at the closing table once the parties reached agreement that got them to that table. Not that it doesnāt happen.
But to your point, if the dealer added port accessories to the delivery that you didnāt know about before that meeting, those are...
I agree the AT3s feel very well planted in rain. Iāve gotten stuck in a couple downpours lately around Floyd Hill on I-70; itās under construction through there and there is no shoulder on a 6% grade. Not a spot where you want to hydroplane.
Not seeing anything about a stoplight.
I also, by the way, think the function is great when youāre in one of those interminable lines to get out of the parking lot after a concert or sporting event. Also not in the manual.
Agreed, though that is sort of the point. When people want a definitive answer to a question, they do one thing. When they want to talk about a subject in a āwhatās your experience and opinion onā¦ā way they do another.
RTFM comments to me demonstrate an inability to read the room, or an...
You are going to be told this so Iāll go ahead and say it.
Many of the things people discuss in life are documented somewhere. The nature of discourse is to share experiences and personal observations for context. This is why forums like this are here, otherwise letās just have a wiki.
The other thing that has gained ground is clear coats on paint jobs. Iāve had my Tahoe 8 years and have never waxed it (too damn big). It cleans up just fine. It also lives in the garage though, which might be the operative lever.
Nothing wrong with Turtle Wax products. Itās a mainstream high volume chemical company and the products are surely more similar than different versus other products at the same price point, including the āMā one (not sure you meant Motherās or Meguiarās but it doesnāt affect the point). Good...
I have the Falkens on my Tahoe. I used to have Defenders.
No doubt the Falkens are louder, but I expected that. They arenāt loud enough to be annoying and in a certain sense the additional tread feedback is reassuring. I think Iām a MPG or 2 down versus the Defenders on average.
I go back...
Congrats, I look forward to hearing more about it.
So this is a deal you did on an in-stock vehicle with no deposit or waiting list?
I ask because I think Iām beginning to see a little inventory on lots here in Denver and at the same time I put a deposit down on a GX 8 months ago and donāt...
I like to say that the most important vehicle on any test drive is the one you show up in. Because the differences between that vehicle and the one youāre shopping for will seem to be the most pronounced.
I recommend the Car Care Nut review of the LC. That guy knows what heās looking at and goes into much detail on the choices Toyota made architecting that engine. Itās a very interesting watch if youāre interested in the material at that level of detail at all.
Spoiler alert, he is very...
Iāve had three BMWs and two Porsches (still have one of them). I love them all. The BMW 545i I had from ā07 to ā13 was epic, maybe my favorite car ever.
My perception may be colored because of the Porsche in the adjacent garage space. That said, for my daily driver Iāve reached the point...
Nice!
I also have a 911 in the garage. Driving a 2016 Tahoe now, looking forward to a LC soon. The two should make great companions.
Agree on internal storage, and I could do without the cold box. Hopefully there are some aftermarket solutions.
Hello LC team.
Iām an incoming. My 2016 Tahoe is aging out and suddenly feels too big to everyone else in my family. Frankly, the Tahoe has been an outstanding vehicle and has given me few problems in 115K miles. But it is really big and the latest body update looks like itās 15% larger yet...
Defenders are in my opinion the best tire on the market for any vehicle that doesnāt need a specialty tire. On this forum, specialty = all-terrain and everyone can make their own choices whether they need that.
I just got 70,000 miles on a set of Defenders on my 2016 Tahoe. I replaced them...
Late to the thread, but I wanted to mention that 285/65/18 tires are exactly the same rolling diameter as the OEM 265/70/18s. Iāll paste the tire size calculator result below. This would mean we could safely keep the OEM spare.
I have Wildpeak AT3 on my [outgoing] Tahoe, I see they are...
