    Do you use Tank Average?

Kurt, I apologize, but I since learned that the setting is only available for 1958’s for some odd reason. Several members made that comment in another thread. The manual isn’t very clear on the point. Sorry.

    Tire Upgrade ?

Neither bean counters, engineers or designers make the ultimate decision. We each provide input based on our perspective / specialty and then an owner / chief executive decides.

    Tire Upgrade ?

As a retired bean counter, I can’t recall a single occasion when I decided what would be included / deleted from a product.

    1958 folks.. regrets?

And, of course, the 1958 has the cool round headlights whereas the LCLC’s attempt at the 80 series lighting falls short.

    1958 folks.. regrets?

I prefer minimal options for a Ute or truck. If I could have spec’d my ‘02 LC any leaner, I would have. Thus, I like how the 1958 refers back to the 80 series when you could get cloth seats, waive the sunroof, etc. Plus, I like how my ‘24 1958’s sticker is not much higher than that ‘02. You...

    Hybrid longevity

Notwithstanding battery life concerns, I’m not sure why we should be overly concerned about Toyota electrical systems. I owned my last LC for 22 years, having bought it new. Over that time period, I paid a fair sum of money to replace worn parts but very little on electrical items. My dad...

    Adaptive Cruise mode

You might also check the setting for PDA, the proactive driving assistance. When enabled, it behaves in a somewhat similar manner as adaptive cruise. On mine, it was enabled by default.

    Takeoff Tires Michelin 265/70 R18

I don’t need the slight upgrade for my 1958 and you’re not conveniently located. But I must say that your price is reasonable, which is appreciated

    Floor mats included?

I’d call it a hardish rubber. I’m not the best person to ask about puddle retention (I live in the South). For the driver’s mat, you do have a decent outer lip along the sides and rear (ie below the seat front). But there really isn’t a lip at the front of the mat under the pedals.

    Floor mats included?

So far, I’ve liked the Toyota all-weather floor and cargo mats that can be purchased as an accessory (and was added by the distributor for my 1958). I’ve never really cared for the Weather Tech style

Apple CarPlay is Garbage- Did we get the Beta version?

Ditto. It’s been more consistent than three past & current vehicles including both wired and wireless versions.

How are you Closing your Hood?

We’re supposed to check the oil monthly? Dang. Forgot to do that on the 100 series that I drove for 22 years and 315k miles. I feel bad that my neglect has likely limited the lifespan of that motor.

The only thing I would say is the sound

I have a Cayman GTS w sport exhaust and the 4L flat six. Sounds awesome and the open / close switch is nice to have. That said, I’m amazed at the number of fellow owners who will spend thousands on an aftermarket exhaust for that car or its GT4 cousin. Some folk just aren’t satisfied with...

Aftermarket exhaust? You wanting it to sound like the pizza boy’s ragged out Civic? 😉

    Car Wash or DIY

Paint correction should be done prior to application of ppf and ceramic. Then you just gently wash and dry. For a vehicle w/o PPF & ceramic, a clay bar is good to prep a recently-washed car for wax application. Every so often though, you might instead use a light polisher (vs clay bar) before...

    Car Wash or DIY

It’s a Ute; don’t make it complicated. On a nice day and if convenient, I’ll wash by hand. But I won’t hesitate to use the car wash when time is short. We’ve had a dumpster and portalet in the driveway most of the summer. So, I haven’t yet washed the new LC. The occasional rain has kept it...

How smooth is your LC250 at 70+ mph?

Mine is very smooth. That said, I’ve had to have wheels rebalanced after having new tires mounted & balanced. It’s an easy fix but frustrating that you have to take it back and say, “do it again!”. This has happened several times over the years and has involved several shops.

    PCS default off

I just turned it off w/o experimenting w sensitivity settings. Once you’ve toned down the deceleration, why do you like the feature? ie, what proactive aspects are worthwhile? I’m not being argumentative. Just trying to decide if it’s worth revisiting the use of PDA - albeit w adjustments

Differences between 1958 and LC Grade

This is really not a new thing. My old 100 series had some flare built into the metal fender but did not have the tacked-on additional flare of other 100’s that was a port-installed option. In a sense, we have the same thing continued now. Both the 1958 and LC have the same flare within the...

    Regenerative Charging - Coasting Feel

I too wish there was some real-time indicator when you’re using the regenerative braking vs friction braking. Normally, I don’t like to ride traditional brakes but I have been braking earlier & more gradually in hopes of storing electricity. You eventually see that the electric battery’s charge...

    Towing and adaptive cruise

Adaptive cruise works fine with the 4 plug. I towed a UHaul recently for 400 miles. Initially thought I wouldn’t be able to use adaptive cruise but learned otherwise. You’re also supposed to turn off BSM but I found that it worked fairly well even with the short trailer. Back to adaptive...

    Heated Seats issue: Updated**

The heated seats worked fine on my ‘02 LC with non-perforated leather. Haven’t begun to be tempted to try the feature in my new LC. I suspect the heat won’t be as noticeable with cloth seats. October update The seat heaters work. When leaving the house early, I notice heat under my seat well...
