Just broke a piece during rear dash cam install, please help identifying a part

That's great.. your dashcam already paid for itself in one vehicle at least! I had some ppl offering to pay me for the coolbox tray too, which is where I have to point out that these things were designed to be 'good enough' for me, not really consumer-grade. I noticed my LC rear camera housing...

Just broke a piece during rear dash cam install, please help identifying a part

Every time I saw a clip of an incident with a rear channel dash cam, I thought it added a lot of context to what happened and seemed like it was worth a try. Hopefully all of my drives are boring and I never need it tho. A 3D printer is definitely not worth it just for this, but if you know the...

Just broke a piece during rear dash cam install, please help identifying a part

Good to know about the left channel, but the right still seems like the way to go and I hope I never have to do this again to decide :ROFLMAO: Regarding the headliner: If you lift up the rubber door seal and expose the edge of the header, you can feel where it flexes and where it doesn't. From...

    3rd party Dash cam mounting

I had seen that, and wish it was the case for the North American market. Honestly, there's no excuse these days for manufacturers (besides tesla) not to have an SD or USB port just to enable a dash cam mode with factory cameras. At the very least provide a port near the rear view mirror just to...

Just broke a piece during rear dash cam install, please help identifying a part

I checked out the left wiring channel but it looked like it was terminated by plugs on each end, whereas the right one just had loose wires running through, so I didn't look back after that. For anyone else, the rubber channeling comes off of the white plastic bit so you can just leave that in...

    Apple CarPlay/Android Auto

It does? I've only tried the native Toyota nav once, just to see if turns would show up in the HUD and they didn't. Is there a setting for this?

Map display in the center gauge cluster

Seems like a bug, hope they fix it as this was confusing to me too. It may be largely useless, but not more so than a big blank spot in your display!

Just broke a piece during rear dash cam install, please help identifying a part

Ha just did the same install today but thankfully didn't break anything. I went through the same rubber channel in the back, but I didn't pull out the white plastic part, I just removed the rubber from around it and left the plastic tabbed part in place seated in the metal. Had no idea it...

Viofo 2Ch Dash Cam Install with Parking Mode

I installed a front and rear Viofo A229 Plus front and rear dash cam with a parking mode option. Here is the process I used in case it's useful to anyone else: For the rear camera, I wanted something close to factory-looking. I designed a mount that snaps around the existing rear-view camera...

    3rd party Dash cam mounting

One option is an OBD2 port wiring harness like this one. These just plug into the port under the dash left of the steering wheel and then you route the wire up: tuck into the side of the dash, pop off the A pillar trim, route behind the airbag, up to the headliner and over to your location on...

Probably a dumb question... do you swap out the spare too?

Since it's sold with a matched spare, it would probably eventually be advantageous on the resale market to have a matched spare. I was in the same boat as you: wanted a +35 to 40 offset for 17" or 18" wheels and wasn't thrilled with the known choices. I decided to get new tires for the 20"s in...

    Tire Upgrade ?

Good to hear. I wasn't thrilled with the smaller wheel/offset options right now, so going to try out the Nokians on my 20"s until I can decide on an 18 or 17 inch option down the line.

    GX550 or LC

I drove a GX first and it nearly caused me to not buy either one. It felt lumbering and laggy and not at all fun to drive. I took it on the highway and never saw the MPG gauge go above 11 mpg. I started shopping for other vehicles and happened to try out the LC just for fun. Responsiveness felt...

It's all about opinions. Mine: From a design standpoint, the LC is bold boxes so the rectangulars fit well with the whole design, whereas anytime I see the round lights they seem to demand all the attention with the stark contrast, and the rest of the car gets lost. The fact that users are now...

Wheels measure 21" - listed as 20" alloys on specs

Tire size is measured from bead seat to bead seat, which is lower than the outermost 'rim' portion. Size comes from where the tire actually makes air-tight contact, not from what you see on the outside

Meteor Shower - What color wheels?

Fellow Meteor Shower owner: I think you have to be careful not to disrupt the black/tan balance that the car has, but having said that I'd say Method's Titanium finish looks nice and is still noticeable.

PICTURES of Bronze Method 701 & Mickey Thompson on my Heritage Blue FE

Yeah that's a no from me. Whenever I see a car kind of matched with the wheels but not really, it looks like they just took whatever they had in the garage, slapped it on, and called it a day because they didn't care. Make them disappear or make them contrast.. don't settle for "close enough".

Forum suggestion: Change the search word length limit

Love the forum, but the search functionality is very frustrating because it ignores any word under 4 characters. This is soooo limiting here: Want to search for K02 photos? "The search could not be completed because the search keywords were too short, too long, or too common." Want to see...

Will I hate the 20" wheels?

I'd say with that use case you'd be fine with the stock 20" wheel and tire combo, but only because I also see that you are in Texas. If you were in New England where the "paved" roads are full of freeze/thaw potholes and uneven patches I'd say go for 18's or even 17's for some extra cushion. I...

How to order the stock 18" wheels?

I can't find definitive weight specs for these wheels. Spreadsheet says 28 lbs, but the only source for that is forum links which also state that they are 31 lbs and that the 28 number is only for the forged BBS wheel. Anyone know for sure?
