Waiting on an answer from Toyota about a bad pressure control solenoid

Ooof, sorry to hear about your LC, the indefinite waiting does suck. Since the cars are in full-swing production mode there isn't really an excess inventor of parts anywhere. Also with these vehicles being as new as they are dealerships aren't familiar with the repair, though thankfully my dealer was quite fast when they received the parts. I was told the new transmission came off of the factory line hence the lengthy wait for them to arrive from overseas. Hopefully, Toyota can deliver additional parts for other customers like yourself to help cut down that repair window. Best of luck to you, I'm sure you'll be glad when you have answers and even more glad when you can have it back!
Especially when any potential supply of transmissions has been devoured by the Tacoma “non - recall” fix that’s underway. Just makes me sad and frustrated, having her for only 6 wks… I should have listened to all those Insta therapists and not let my vehicle love bomb me in to falling in love too quickly and missing her so much 🤣

Dangit.. I had hoped that the Tacoma tranny issues would not cross over into our territory. Looks like I’ll have to get another set of worry beads to clutch while this issue unfolds before our eyes.

😤😡🤬

Sorry to hear ! My 2024 Landcruiser also in the shop awaiting new transmission/torque converter at 2k miles!!!! 😢

I had 2 instances today where the engine did not shut off when I thought it should. But I drove home over an hour with no issues.

1. Idling at chick filet for over 5 minutes and the engine never shut down.
2. At a stoplight I was looking for it to shut off because of #1 earlier and it did not shut off.

Even though 1 and 2 happened, when I got home in my driveway the engine shut off and I coasted around like normal on electric.

Maybe 1 & 2 have happened before and I never noticed. I am now paying attention due to this post.

Ah man..that sucks!! Hopefully your fix doesn't take 2 months.

Crap as well!!

I

Sorry to hear also! Did you have the same behavior as the OP?

Loud thunk in neutral and all kinds of warning lights?

3 alerts ... hybrid /drive start control /system malfunctions. Driving only 5 mph then Loud thump and jolt like hit from behind then reving like stuck in gear neutral only able to drive limp. Lights remained on and when I checked my Toyota app showed same alerts when at dealership . They said it needs new transmission /torque converter and transmission fluid had metal shavings?????

Since the transmission fluid had metal shavings, I wonder if we should all get fluid changes? Or if this is going to happen is the damage done already or would that just delay the issue from coming up sooner?

Both of yall had it happen under 2500 miles. I wonder if that's a coincidence or that's the mark we need to be looking for?

not sure what to think anymore

Trying to prepare for the worst and I have all my other projects on hold for now.

Does anyone know a TACO owner who got a new transmission and if everything is OK now. My thought is if there is an issue with the parts wouldn't there still be an issue with the new ones? It's like replacing a bad windshield with a new, but still bad windshield.

Yeah this is what i wanna know too… did toyota root cause this issue and are the new components updated to resolve it.

I have a transmission flush (not just a drain and fill) scheduled for tomorrow morning. They are going to look for any signs of metal shavings. I have several camping trips coming up with not great cell service in those areas and need the peace of mind.

I live in a smaller market but my service advisor has not had a single 2024 Taco come in for their transmission issue so that's good news. The other service advisor did have one.

This was me/my post and experience Transmission issues - hard fall in and out of gears

Oct 30th - I just heard from the dealership today actually. They have had my vehicle for 3 wks now with no real answers. They showed me the metal glitter bomb in the bottom of my transmission pan delicately and beautifully dispersed in my transmission fluid lol
The last i heard was they were waiting for some oil test kit from Toyota canada. I guess that was completed annnnnnnnnddddddd……… It turns out I need a new transmission (as expected) To my absolute shock and dismay… it’s on order and will arrive on this coming monday apparently. Thats left to be seen considering there was nothing in stock a week and a half ago… so fingers crossed I have my girl back by the end of next week once the swap out takes place.
Oct 31st - amending my updated from yesterday. Apparently the service rep who contacted me to say the fix was on the way, was wrong. The only thing arriving is a fluid test kit from Toyota Canada. There is no transmission ordered or replacements coming next week. Not sure how much incompetence it requires to mess up something so significant as that… but it’s happened. I feel like I am in a sad comedy of errors and bad luck.
