Tow Hitch

For anyone with a 1up bike rack - i used a wheel lock as my hitch pin. I emailed them to ask about this and they said that it is the same pin just longer so that should be perfectly fine to use as a hitch pin.

So, I turned off the parking sensor and turned on the tow button and I still get the full backup warnings when in reverse. Still can't get them to stop because of the bike rack.

I spent a little time menu diving with the manual this afternoon. You can disable the parking brake warning entirely to no longer yell at you, or turn the volume down as well. I opted to just turn it off since I intend to leave my rack on for most of the year. Adjusting the volume does appear to change the alert volume for other features.

I also absolutely love how the top down view perspective makes it look like I have a 30 foot tall bike rack. ha!

Hey thanks TrailWhale that did the trick. It does turn off the forward camera and warning also.

Can anyone confirm that the smaller hitch panel cover comes as an accessory on the 1958 editions?

Do you know if it's the "wheel lock" or "long wheel lock"?

Good info thank you! Saved me from buying a new hitch pin.

I think you're correct. I just found this on the site:

Looks like the standard Quick Rack Wheel Lock Pin will work, based on the "Usable Length".

If you get the hitch pin it threads in and creates a antirattle so you may want to consider just getting a longer hitch pin you’ll probably pay same thing. Mine is a kuat and someone posted the long threaded hitch pin here somewhere. Maybe a search will find it.

Found it. Not sure if it’s compatible with a 1up

Fortunately, the 1-Up comes with an anti-rattle hitch built in that you tighten with a "security" hex wrench. The pin itself is really more to keep someone from having the hex wrench and walking off with it. When you turn the hex bolt, it presses a ball out inside the hitch receiver tube and locks everything in place nice and tight.

Following up on 1up racks - I spent a few minutes today sanding off a bit of the black plastic on the standard 1up hitch pin. It’s fairly easy to remove enough material to allow the hitch pin to fit perfectly.

I have the Hollywood racks sport rider rack. The included locking hitch pin is long enough. Have been happy with it.
