Awesome. Now I don’t feel so bad. I’m not crazy about this exercise because the logical next step is “how many $ have you spent and how many $ would you have had you put in S&P index fund instead”. Yes true but not nearly as fun!
Maybe we should limit to how many race cars have you had or how many cars in last 3 years?

I try not to think about the "what if's" but my wife does!
Worse is that many of these cars have extensive mod lists. The 94 RX-7 was fully built as an Auto-X car first then into road race/DE car and did about 20 track days. Three of the Miatas were built into Spec Miatas and did a bit of racing in the early 2000's. 95' E36 M3 also built into track car and got a fair share of track time. C5 Z06, GT3, GT350, ZL1, Supra, C8 Vette and GR86 were "tires, brakes, alignment" cars that were mostly for track days. I stopped counting track weekends past 100. Racing/track days and mods are way more painful financially than trading new cars.

Older now (is 50 old here?) and like off road stuff more and seeing the sights, hence the 1958 to hopefully get a trip out west to Moab/Colorado/Montana, etc. The wife also loves it and drives it which also makes it financially more acceptable.

The car list would look a lot worse if I didn't get into motorcycle adventure and dual sport riding a few years back. That list is probably equally embarrassing. Enjoy cars responsibly kids......moderation is key. Or anything worth doing is worth over doing. Something like that.

I love my LC, but I’ve wanted a Cobra ever since I first read about them when I was a kid. I’m lucky enough to have owned my dream car. Not practical at all… terrifyingly fast, unbearably hot most of the year here in Florida, fair weather car only (the top is a nightmare to install and leaks), minuscule wheel base and tremendous power makes this car spin like a top when the rear tires break loose… but by far my favorite of all the cars I’ve owned. I sold it for more than I bought it for, after owning it for 6 years, to make a down payment on another house. Someday, I will buy another!

I've been thinking about this and just have to say that after 2,000 miles, there is no doubt in my mind that my 24LCLC is my favorite car that I have owned. Maybe it’s because it’s the highest end/most expensive car I’ve had, but I think it’s more than that. But I have feelings about all the rest. I can still see and feel that Prelude, and of course, distinctly remember hitting 125mph as a dumb 16-year old on an east TX highway. The fantastic 4WD capability of the Cherokee in the snow of upstate NY. The utter boringness of the Pilot and Highlander. And of course, the rumble, power and 12mpg of the V8 4R. But my 24LC just tops them all.

1998-2007: 1998 GMC Sierra. It was pretty well miled & aged out. Time to trade for an upgrade.

2007-2016: 2007 Ford F150. It was getting up there & seemed big for the city. Wish I’d kept it, I’d still be driving it I’m sure. The best vehicle I’ve owned, though the Acura was up there too.

2012-2017: 1989 Mustang. GT vert, great 3 season 2nd car. Had a lot of fun with it, & while I don’t want to say I should’ve kept it…

2016-2022: 2007 MDX. Awesome find when heading into winter with the mustang after selling the F150. Sold to my neighbor whose kids are still driving it when I no longer needed to keep 2 cars.

2017-2020: 1993 Explorer. Good 4 season 2nd car after the Mustang. Died despite low miles & being well cared for. Still, that’s >25 years old.

2020-2022: 2020 Explorer. Maybe another one I should’ve just kept, but it never felt like mine being bought mostly for my ex.

2022-2025?: 2022 Bronco Sport. Big downgrade I wasn’t expecting. Its small & maneuverable for the city. But I’m researching getting into a car I’ll want to keep long term again.
