Weak key fob?

My key fob seems to be weak and will only lock/unlock reliably if I'm within maybe 75ft, very hit and miss farther than that (with a clear line of sight). Both key fobs seem to be the same and batteries are good. I know I can use the app...I'm coming from a 4th gen 4Runner which worked from 300ft, but maybe that is abnormally far. Is 75ft normal for the key fob?

Maybe it’s not your problem. But I keep my key in a Faraday cage whenever I can. Do you really want everybody to be able to listen to the conversation your key fob had with your car?

Same. Once I'm like 10-15 steps away from my vehicle the signal gets noticeably less reliable.
