I’ve put on my bike rack for the next few months. I am scared I’m going to accidentally attempt to open the trunk forgetting it is attached and I’ll mar the paint when the trunk hits the rack.

And of you guys have any clever solutions for a cover for the open switch as a reminder? I mean, I could simply just throw on a big piece of a red electrical tape and call it a day (or scarier still-just try to remember it’s attached) but I was looking for something a little bit more elegant.

I still have it requiring long press to open as a fail safe.

This is exactly how my LC got its first dent. I forgot I had the rack with both MTB bikes loaded up and opened the hatch from the switch near the steering wheel... I sure was mighty pissed at myself.

I just fab'ed an elec lifting bike rack (still have one more piece to finish) and installed in on my LC, went I have more time.........

I think I'll tap into the rear window "unlatched/popped condition" switch, as the hatch will only beep at you when you try and activate it when the glass is popped.
