Purpose
The purpose of this thread is to make a consolidated list of plans, prices, dealerships and points of contact that can be referenced quickly for anyone trying to price shop. Plans are vehicle specific for the 2024 or newer Land Cruiser LC250. This thread is only for the Toyota Extended Warranty called a Toyota Vehicle Service Agreement (VSA) from Toyota Financial Services.

Details can be found in the link below.

Previous Threads
I searched and read through the previous extended warranty thread from June 2024 but it’s sort of a hot mess. Each member that purchased one, left out a piece of vital information. For example; which plan, mileage and timeframe, deductible amount, price paid or person who sold it. Literally not a single post included all the necessary information. Each post is missing at least one or more pieces. You won’t be able to properly compare and price match a plan if you don’t have all these pieces.

Goal
Ultimately to help anyone who wants to buy a Toyota VSA Extended Warranty or negotiate with their dealership to match a deal found here. For those who don’t already know, Toyota branded VSA Extended Warranties can only be sold by the dealership. You can buy a Toyota VSA extended warranty from any Toyota dealership it doesn’t have to be from the Toyota dealership you buy your vehicle from. Hopefully though, your dealership will match or beat a deal you referenced from this list. If not then you’re going to have to search and find someone who will. You can always call a point of contact on this list and request the same deal. Hopefully they can give you the same deal or at least a deal almost as good.

Method
For those forum members that purchased the Toyota VSA extended warranty. Can you share;

1. Which plan (platinum, gold, or powertrain/years/mileage/deductible),
2. What it cost you,
3. Which dealership?
4. A point of contact/person

Example would look like

1. Platinum/10yr/100k/zero deductible
2. $xxxx
3. ABC Toyota of Somewhere
4. Jimmy John, Finance Manager
(123) 456-7891

Just the facts, no opinions on why or should you (plenty of those already been shared). Just a thread to help those looking for and researching their purchase.

I’ll update this first post with the information from everyone’s responses. If I get any details screwed up please let me know. All feedback and contributions are appreciated. Even if all four data points are not provided. Your sharing is appreciated.

Disclaimer
There is no guarantee that the same deal can be made or matched. Hopefully this helps you with finding a deal from a dealership that will make or match a deal listed here.

Thank you ahead of time and cheers!🍻

My dealer has lifetime powertrain warranty as long as I own the vehicle since I bought from them. I added the electronics 100k warranty (basically the platinum coverage) for $2000 done at time of signing by me as a choice.

These I had no choice in;
I have the windshield 5 yr replacement for chip or cracks warranty $1895. leather seat replacement warranty and interior appearance for $1295. I have the chipprotect PPF warranties chip and door edge $1895. All part of their in demand pricing and non negotiable as it was added on by dealer. They wanted to put more on it but I talked them down. All part of buying a first edition in high demand area.

Thank you for sharing Roonie. I’m sorry you had to deal with that to get your First Edition. Can you share which dealership this was at?

I see this fellow mentioned a lot. No personal experience with him yet.

FD-Warranty is another I've seen mentioned.

If you are in California these folks might not be able to sell you an extended warranty. If anyone knows a dealer in California who will match prices, let me know!

I called around to several other internet referenced service guys around the US after finding out that the dealers in SC do not have access to the Toyota factory warranties. I just want to thank everyone for their contributions. This is exactly what I had imagined it would be. Special thanks to gobraves for your work and sharing it. This will help so many forum members save money on their VSA.

Here's the newb question for all the others who probably want to know - why the warranty?

I'm interested in investing in a good deal, but I definitely don't want to pay for something that's more hassle than it's worth. Is the VSA worth it?

Welcome to the forum LAR! It’s a really good question that is well discussed in the following linked thread.

Thread 'Extended Warranty'
Extended Warranty

Lots of opinions for and against extended warranties. Toyota Vehicle Service Agreement (VSA) is an extended warranty by Toyota Financial Services.

The top plan is Toyota Platinum VSA. It is basically an extension of the factory warranty once your factory warranty has expired. For me, I want my warranty to be factory bumper to bumper for ten years or 100k miles. That’s just me. Most people are fine with the factory warranty of three years or 36k miles. It’s an individual choice and only you can decide if it’s for you.

I would not recommend thinking of a new vehicle as an investment. That is just a phrase sales people use and it couldn’t be further from the truth. Vehicles are consumer goods that only depreciate. I wouldn’t recommend thinking of an extended warranty as “protecting an investment” either. That is just another phrase used by sales people and it’s deceptive. Think of an extended warranty as insurance to protect yourself from having to pay a large repair bill outside of warranty.

I can only speak for myself when I say that warranties have protected me several times. My current daily is an Audi Certified Pre Owned vehicle. Literally 6 days before my extended warranty expired my engine completely ate itself. It cost over $9600 for Audi to install a new long block (basically a new crate motor from Audi). If I had no warranty I would have had to pay all of that. It was fast and convenient and they gave me a loaner while they did the work. If I had a non factory warranty I imagine it would have been a pain in the ass to file a claim, and would probably not gotten a new motor from the manufacturer. It was all taken care of and I didn’t have any hassles or problems (other than my engine eating itself). Before that I had a Dodge Ram Eco Diesel. That engine failed why still under the original factory warranty. I don’t remember what it cost but it was traumatic enough for me to tell myself on my next vehicle I am buying a factory extended warranty.

In both of those vehicles I was just commuting home and my instrument cluster just turned into a Christmas Tree. Lights all over blinking and telling me to pull over safely. Recently I watched videos of people describing the same experience when their New Tundra’s suffered similar fates. I also have been following the transmission failures of the new Tacomas. For me it’s worth the $2230 for the ten years and 100k miles to cover anything like that happening outside of the three years and 36k miles. I will sleep soundly and not worry. I know our Japanese made Land Cruisers are unlikely to have failures like the Tacomas and Tundras made in the Americas. For me I just don’t mind the $2230 for peace of mind backed by Toyota Financial. I think that warranty retails for $6500, so I understand the hesitation at retail. Okay, I really didn’t want to turn this thread into a why or should you but I also didn’t want to be rude and just refer you to the other thread. I hope this is helpful for you and I wish you the very best my LC friend!

Really appreciate your insight.

For the prices quoted - are these only at purchase, or is there a waiting period wherein we could get one, if we wanted?

I can read more into it, but since I’m in a “room full” of folks who’ve done it - figured I’d take the easy (wise?) route and ask. lol
