Tire Upgrade ?

Looks like the 275/70/18 SL Nitto Terra Grappler G3 are available now, as another member posted installed pictures. I think they will be a great option!

This thread is amazing! Going for 17x8.5 +25 and lookin to do 285/70/17 as well. Just confirming you were able to fit a same size spare underneath?
I was able to fit both the Nokian Outpost nAT and Toyo Open Country III in 285/75/17 in the spare spot, but just barely. You could check the actual diameter of the tire you're looking at compared to the two above. Also obvious, but you'll lose some clearance underneath in the back with the wider wheel and tire. But I'll be getting a bumper with swing out for the spare when available anyway.

Question: I have a 1958 Edition that came with Yokohama Geolander X-CV tires in 245 70 R18. There are very limited tire choices in that exact size, but plenty of options in 255 70 R18. Is it possible to switch from 245 --> 255? Are there any cons to that?

Also, any idea how good these tires will be in a snowy Minnesota winter?

I think your options get much better if you bite the bullet and go with 265 70 18's. This is size that comes on LC LC and FE models. Thats what I did and most options are very good on pricing.

I'm pretty sure 265/70R18 would be find on the 1958 wheels, but best to confirm with someone who has already done it. I' think I've seen some folks here who have?

Is there a difference in the structure of a 1958 and FE. If I get +18 offset will it poke out more on a FE than a 1958? I thought it was same.
