Three used LCs with less than 500 miles

I noticed on cargurus website there are 3 used 2024 LCs with less than 400 miles on them. All are in Tennessee at 3 different retailers. Two have the RK in the VIN and one has the R5 in the vin, so not built in the same plant.

No free carfaxes available. Two have early VIN numbers....128 and 331. Anyone care to speculate if they made it into the US with a QC problem that required repair and disqualified them as new cars?

What does happen when a vehicle needs major repair that is non-recall related before it meets it's first retail customer.

What trim are these? If these are 1958s, it could be people who wanted to upgrade to higher trims.

Two are FEs and one is 1958 trim.

Could be hail damage. I had a dealer in Colorado trying to sell me 1 of 3 vehicles with major hail damage. They made seem like a deal because I wouldn’t have to pay a “market adjustment”

Could be some of the test vehicles the Press were driving. I wouldn't buy a "new" car with 500 miles. That's used.

They are advertised as used. Listed at independent auto retailers. Went up for auction perhaps. Seems a little odd they are all in TN.

Are they listed in western TN? There is a Toyota engine site at Jackson TN, so these units were perhaps used for some sort of testing.

Yes, witnessed a customer upgrade from a 1958 to a Base with premium package when I was picking up mine. It had 400 miles on it.

I had a car that got a scratch on the bumper during transport. The bumper was painted by the dealership's auto body before I took delivery. It never showed up on the CarFax or anything like that.

Assuming what I have read to be true, the vehicles they get are not sold to the public after they're done regurgitating the manufacturer's press release carefully and honestly reviewing the vehicle.

That is likely the case with these three used LC's as well. Dealers are trying to hit numbers so they sell them to their own dealership and mark them as sold. I presume the dealership gets a bonus or the right for more Toyota allocation once they hit these numbers,

I'm not particularly a fan of buying a used "new" vehicle as you are now the second owner and have to explain that years down the road when you sell/trade. Unless there is a decent discount, I personally wouldn't go that route.
