they sent a new block for mineThe dealer may say piston slap and it’s no good. I’m wondering if the engine may be designed this way for a reason. If it was actually bad I believe Toyota would come up with a fix.

I remember you saying they did. I wanna know if it sounds the same when it gets started.they sent a new block for mine
From what I know some had the piston slap and some did not(at the dealership) or some had it worse than others. It sounded like they may end up doing a recall. Time will tell though.I remember you saying they did. I wanna know if it sounds the same when it gets started.
I’m not so concerned but more curious. Why would the injector noise stop and start with the cooling fan ( eng temp) then stop when I rev it a few times.?
Update:I returned home after going to the gym this morning. I decided to pop the hood to check out the engine while it was running. I started to hear this tapping noise, sounded like lifters. It would come and go with the start of the cooling fan. I took a video (attached) to share with the forum. After about 10 minutes it stopped completely. I have 500 miles on the LC FE. It was built at the Tahara plant.
