I'm not affiliated with RCI, but I have their skids and sliders on my Tacoma and they've been super solid. Anyway, they just released their skids for the 250 and, now that my order is in, I figured I'd put it out here in case anybody needs or wants better protection. Sliders should be coming in the next couple of weeks as well.

Wow, dirt cheap compared to other brands and OEM. What’s the catch?

Any idea if the tranny plate is compatible with the OEM front?

Also worth noting: RCI’s front skid bolts into the lower radiator support just like the OEM. A lot of aftermarket skids are opting to also bolt into the recovery point bolts since that lower radiator support is fairly weak (already bent mint). Just food for thought.

This.....alll day long. I think a skid bolted to the radiator support is a very bad idea.

Valid concern, and that's entirely fair. Given the 6 additional bolts on other cross members and high rigidity of folded/welded steel, I'm not particularly concerned about damaging it. I wouldn't get the aluminum front skid, but that would be true no matter where it attached.

Wonder if someone will fabricate a stronger more stout radiator support bracket that can take some punishment. The low mounted radiator seems to be an issue with some folks. I've seen two posts so far where people damaged it.

I know there are some fabricators with them in the works, with additional support to the tow hooks.
