Does anyone know the part# for this trim piece? I guess it was loose and flew off and I just saw it this morning.

Following. Had you taken it off before? or just flew off as is from factory? i took mine off to install the nashfabco ditch light brackets and they simply don't go back in tight. Even mechanic tried and broke one of the white clips. I have them on now but not very tight. someone needs to develop a third party replacement.

Just what the doctor ordered! Mine flew off somewhere in the Mojave desert after breaking that tiny yellow clip while installing the HAM radio antenna. :(

For anyone who still has the trim but broken or lost yellow fastener, since the dealerships have this simple plastic piece (and any other LC parts) on back order for months, I believe this amazon solution should work: Amazon.com
One of these two should be a suitable replacement. I discovered that it should be placed into the trim first, not the hood body. It snaps out of the body from the back with pliers to compress the prongs.

Mine just flew off and noticed the other side is not super tight.

I will need to take them off when my ditch brackets come on also.

I just ordered 4 different types of fasteners.... from "bamwholesaleparts.com" no issues getting them.

Unfortunately the Amazon clips don’t work and the cowl edge trim replacement the includes the yellow clip is even back ordered on BAM.

I received the part today and attached is a good view of the bottom. I just realized the small yellow clip is still attached. In the zoomed in picture the plastic hole the clip goes into looks thick on the edges, but with the naked eye it looks very skinny and fragile. I am guessing that edge piece cracked and the part then flew off. We have had a lot of high wind gusts here the last few weeks.

If you do a search of the part there are several dealers around the US that have them in stock. My local dealer didn't and they said it was on back order for 2+ months. They can also do a statewide search for you.

I am also in Texas. did you order from a dealer here in the state?

My dealer said the Toyota in Midland Texas had the part but I accidentally ordered from Midlands Toyota which I think is in Maryland but either way I got the part. They said they get calls all the time from people calling for the one in Midland..lol

is there a way to check if its in stock at any dealer online? or had you just been calling dealerships at random? tried Midland tx toyota, they dont have it. Trying Midlands SC Toyota but they cant answer the phone.

*Update, I got ahold of the SC dealership, they said they had them in the warehouse. told me to order from toyotagenuineparts.com to get shipped. Placed the order. Lets see if it goes through or not.

I just got in the Nashfab ditch brackets. How do you take off the oem piece? Trying not to break anything.

It’s pretty easy to take off. You probably won’t break anything just using a screwdriver or trim tool to pop it off. Just make sure afterwards you remove the yellow clip from the body with needle nose pliers. If u break it, you can get a replacement for like $15 at that website.

When putting the Nash fab bracket on, make sure you hold it tight towards the passenger side with ur hand while bolting back in to allow that yellow clip space to pop back in its seat

Thanks..I managed to pull it off without breaking anything. When you mention the yellow clip do you mean the small round one from the trim piece in this original post?

In this picture how do you get the tab from the Nash bracket to go into the original bracket space? I have tried with both the hood up and down and can't get it to slip in so I can bolt it all down.

I am good with the tab. I bent it out a bit and was able to get it in the slot.

Anyone have any pictures of what part #6 looks like on the underside or how to remove it? I need to replace the A pillar trim along the windshield and unless it can slide down under that trim piece, I will probably have to remove it.
