Yes, I believe it requires pulling loose the top section to install two clips for each window.

Here's the pdf install sheets for the Lexus version of the Land Cruiser. I will not get the visors I ordered until later this week probably.

OEM visors are readily available to be shipped from Japan through resellers. Ordered mine here and received them within a week.
They were also kind enough to provide me with some translated instructions here.
Very easy and quick install once you figure out where the clips go (peel down the weather seal from the window frame, they mount directly to the frame and seal goes back over the clips).

Any chance you can take a picture from the inside (driver's seat) looking out and illustrate how the clips look? Do they block the view and stick out?

Here you go, you can see the clips a little bit but they don’t really bother me at all. The oem quality is definitely there.
Plus the added security not having to worry about them only being held on by adhesive & just flying off on the highway, or some not-so-do-gooder walking by and easily pulling them off is always nice.

Mine shipped from a domestic Toyota dealership linked above.
Shipped recently? Nobody now seems to have these in stock.
Placed the order late last week and they shipped this week. Maybe I snagged one of the last ones then they ran out? Sorry if so.
