Do the rock sliders make sense to have on the FE if you are not planning on doing any excursions over rocks or hard off-roading? I mean they are not used to step into truck. Would removing add any clearance? Are they easy to remove and add back on if needed?

I had them on my 1958 and took them off to see what it would look like. 16 bolts total, very easy, however they are very heavy so be careful. Use a jack so they don't smack you in the head. I plan on selling these as I don't go rock climbing in Utah and I feel I just lost 100 pounds off my truck. More weight I can now carry while camping.

Thank you for your reply. Thinking the same. Get rid of some weight. clean up the look maybe. Do you have an estimate of the weight of each slider so I will have idea of how to approach taking off? Not to knock myself out doing it😂

About 40 to 45 each. They are heavy! I think the look is much cleaner and having them on is useless as a step. Again, just use a floor jack of another person for safety.

If you take them off, please take a picture. I too was thinking about removing them.
