Nitto Terra Grappler G3

I called around town last week and nobody had them in SL nor access to them. Only 10 ply. I plan to do the “mountain” wide and not the bolts as well. Would love to see a pic.
it looks like discount tire has them still available=- if there's one in your area...

Those look fantastic! Seriously considering the same for mine. Looking forward to hearing how you like the ride/noise/MPGs.
Ok, 6 days and 100 miles in on SL G3’s in 275/70/18. Good ride, not too firm on city and highway roads. No material noise increase vs. stock Michelins. Mileage seems to have hardly dropped; dash computer shows down from 21.5 that I was running consistently to say 21.3, but I’ve not cycled through a tank yet so may need more mileage run. No dirt road+ experience to share but will be fine I’m sure, just not at the E-level where heavier/stronger tires would most beneficial.

Thanks for the update and glad to hear you're liking them! Any feel for how they do in the rain? I'm in the PNW, so am looking for something that performs well when it's wet...so like 9 months of the year! 😆

I’ll take some of that rain. Hasn’t rained in Houston for over a month, so no experience yet. Ratings, although minimal out there, seem to suggest that wet traction should be good though, more so than this tire’s predecessor G2’s. Curious to learn as well as we do get our rain here, just not since the last hurricane!

I just pulled the trigger on a set of Terra Grappler G3s in 265/60R20 (yes I have the premium wheels - it was included and the dealer didn't charge me for the upgrade). I'll get them installed Friday 11/1 and am looking forward to seeing the improvement from the OE Dunlops!

Got the SL 275 70 R18 SL yesterday. Love the ride! Went on mild OR, Hwy and some city today. Amazing difference: quiet, smooth and confident tire.

Looks great! Any rubbing with these? I am trying to figure out if I should go 265 or 275. I'm thinking the 265 may look too narrow like the current Michelins and not as aggressive as the LC should have. I'll also be running the stock wheels.

I ran these for 150 miles in the 275. It really is an awesome tire. I’m moving to a 17 inch rim so I’m selling them if anyone is interested. I already have the G3 on order for the 17 inch rim.

What size G3 tire are you going with on the 17s?

No rubbing

285/70. I would do 275, but it isn’t available in the SL in that size. If I can get all the components together it will be method 703 with +45 offset, 2.5 preload collars and 1 inch in the rear. I think it gives the best of all worlds, MPG, Ride, and look.

In switching from the OEM 20" optional wheels to OEM 18" wheels with 275/70R18SL Terra Grappler G3, my scale was showing only about a one pound difference in weight (per corner).

So far, happy with the improved look and initial driving impressions. Looking forward to more time with them to get better impressions of noise, MPGs, feel, etc...

LCSpecial, do you know what offset your wheels are? I've been considering these tires and it looks like you have the wheel stance about where I'd want them.
Hello--I believe they are +45. Imo I couldn't be happier

I had the terra grapplers installed on 10/31 and so far I am very happy with them. They are quiet on the highway and I haven't noticed any difference in MPG. I look forward to getting out into the dirt.

Can anyone share impressions from driving Terra Grappler G3s (especially in SL rating) offroad? I'm not looking to do extremely difficult trails, but some of our roads to trailheads here in Colorado are quite Rocky and I'm worried about punctures. And has anyone driven these tires in the snow yet?

That's my truck. I think you just sold me a set of these! The Michelins aren't a bad tire, but these wheel wells do need to be filled a bit more. G3's seem like a a really good match for these.

275 G3's appear to be about an inch more diameter than stock Michelins. Would seem to be a perfect fit for the LC. Wife loves the truck, but it's already not that easy for her to get up and in. With the additional inch, wondering whether I might be able to provide an assist for her with different rails? She's 5'2", so every inch up makes it a steeper climb. Any ideas on that front?
