Hi, just bought the meteor shower w some extra upgrades. I come from a 2018 MB E-400 & 2015 Acura TLX and I felt pretty confident in my tech skills w those cars. I was able to navigate around quite well. But tbh, I’ve spent more time watching YouTube videos this week than time spent driving bc I can’t figure out the most elementary things! For instance, my top problem is trying to figure out how to place a compass on the instrument panel. I want to be able to see the direction I’m driving in and hopefully the street I’m driving on, on either the instrument panel display or on the 8” display. I don’t want to have my phone map up at all times. Is this possible??? If anyone can help I will be forever grateful!

Welcome to the jungle.

Finally beat EOD guy to one!!

Also the compass is an option on the 1958 using your steering wheel controls but you will need to press over as it is in a screen that has 2 options.

Welcome to the Jungle!
Welcome to the Jungle! Haha, you must come from the Axyl Rose days as well.. Speaking of rock bands, does anyone care much for the stereo in the 1958. I’m def less than impressed. In the past it seemed that Toyota’s base level stereos were actually pretty good. I’m thinking of having a different after market system installed. Any thoughts?

I’m having trouble figuring out those steering wheel controls. Half the time I can’t get out of the choices, so much for the “back” button! I’ve spent way too much time fooling w the informatics on this truck. I know a lot of people think the system is easy, but it’s not compared to what I’ve come from. For instance—why couldn’t they put all the stereo controls on one side? It just seems so practical. And I won’t even get started on Apple CarPlay and all of the bugs I’ve had to squash. It still isn’t working correctly three weeks later….It’s made me want to pull my hair out. 😡
Otherwise, I think it’s a great vehicle, as negative as I sound! There’s only a couple of things that I would change, and a couple of things I wish I would’ve added to the trim. You don’t realize how much you miss something or how important it is until you don’t have it, (power seats and a compass).. ☹️

I’ll try this.. if I haven’t already. My brain is fried from trying everything..

As I get older, it takes me a bit more time to figure things out, and to make it second nature. Some of the controls on my 1958 were frustrating at first, but after having mine since November, it is falling into place. The main thing though, I have absolutely loved driving this thing since day one. It just makes me happy!
