Land Cruiser Tire Upgrades?

What? Have we all been avoiding sport mode just for help with mpg's and logic has been reversed? OK cannot wait to play with this. I did notice something similar this winter when I could have sworn driving in normal might have been giving me better fuel economy than in eco when engine was cold. But was not sure.
My MPG improved from 17.4 ECO mode to 19+ in normal mode 70-80 MPH on the high way. Might have to give sport mode a try on the next trip.

3peak mountain snowflake rating is what I like about the Bridgestones. For some reason, the Michelin Defenders 2 LTX don’t have that rating. 🤔
The rating has to do with the percentage of the contact patch that is void space, or something like that. It’s not super scientific.

I ran Defenders on my Tahoe for 70,000 miles up and down I70 in Colorado and replaced them with Wildpeak AT3s which were 3MP rated. The Defenders were surer footed in the kind of packed snow you get on highways in the winter. The Falkens might have had an advantage in loose deep snow.

I've been eyeing these. How is the ride quality and was there any affect on fuel mileage?

I've got those AT3 EV's in 275/70R18 SL as well. Ride quality is great for an all terrain tire. MPG does take a slight hit, but not more than 1-2mpg in the city, and almost the same on the highway.

Agree with rschoi_75, ride quality is great and very responsive. At 60mph or higher, road noise is minimal; honestly, with music and A/C on, I don’t really notice any additional noise. I went with the SL b/c they were 10 lbs less heavy than other A/Ts and should be sufficient for my needs for now. I haven’t noticed any change in MPG either, averaging about 20-21mpg city driving. These EV tires are designed with reduced rolling resistance and smooth sidewalls to help minimize wind drag. So far I am very pleased and love the look and ready for some offroading adventures.

Love those BBS wheels in +47.5. Where did you find them?

I do too. I love how light they are and how they maintain the OEM look. The +47.5 offset is perfect for me, the tire stays right within the wheel well, yet gives a beefier stance. These were take offs I found on Facebook Marketplace.

Really nice. Yes they maintain the OEM look which I really like. I have been searching everywhere for a take off or something close but not $3500. By the way, do you know the weight of them? You said they are take offs, so assume not really from Toyota? I heard the weight is 34lbs, but not sure if the source is accurate.

Yes, these are OEM. They are from a Tundra TRD Pro PT960-34220-2F. I get about 29 lbs, but sources say 34 lbs.

I decided to stick with the 265/70r18 Toyo AT3 (same that is on the Trailhunter Taco and the GX) as the tire shop wasn’t sure about 275s clearing at full turn (slightly taller and wider than 265s). I imagine they’ll fit but as I don’t have the truck to measure, I opted to order the factory size.

GX Overtrail looks pretty good with these tires so I got them in a 10ply rather than of a 4ply for increased load capacity and sidewall protection. I think there was a 5lb difference between the plys (43lbs v 48lbs). KO2s were a little over 50lbs for the 10ply.

I’ll run these for the first set and maybe plus up to a 275 or 285 next go round when there is more info on fitment.
BFG 285/70/18 fits with no rubbing.
