Curious what the expectations for Land Cruiser pricing given the new 4Runner now out. Wonder if we will see potential buyers hold off on purchasing Land Cruisers as they view the 4Runner as a viable option.

In short, do you think we there will be a better opportunity to purchase below MSRP in the coming months? Trying to decide if I buy now or wait. More interested in LC vs. 1958 trim.

You can buy a LC below MSRP now, if you're willing to travel. While the LC and 4Runner will get cross shopped a lot, I doubt the addition of the new 4Runner will impact LC prices much.

With exception of the 1958, which some dealers are building inventory, LC prices seem pretty stable. If US demand were to drop, Toyota would likely shift allocations internationally, where some countries have year+ wait lists, which would stabilize prices.

The 4Runner pricing trajectory will probably work out similarly to the LC; high initial demand with most sales at MSRP and above, ultimately to hover around MSRP depending on location.

Lot of potential buyers have been waiting on the 6gen 4 Runner, the SR5 remains a bargain and they are going to be in high demand. But if you want a 4Runner with the turbo hybrid and more off-road capabilities itโ€™s likely going to cost you pretty close to an LC.

I personally donโ€™t see dealers discounting the LC much since they are going to have a lot fewer of them on the lot (by a factor of 10) compared to 4Runners. I believe Toyota will have sold 14,000 or so LCโ€™s in 2024 while the projected annual US market for 4Runners is something like 135,000.

I can see some prospective LC buyers going to the 4Runner, but I donโ€™t see this having much effect on sale price of either vehicle. Toyota will simply fine tune supply to meet the new demand.

I started out on the list for a 4Runner. With the delays and continued research, for me the LC was a better fit. I did wait for a 25 to allow Toyota to work out production issues and quality. I got my LC premium at well under MSRP with some work (cross shopping dealers, walking in with cash to show I was a serious buyer, and walking away when that got stupid with add on junk or pricing). I settled on one dealer here in Dallas who was happy to work with me. I actually found them by reading the 4Runner 6g forum.
