Illuminated door sills on sale

Toyota does some outright goofy things in the US market.

Why wouldn’t they have “Land Cruiser” illuminated door sills on all Premiums?

Why do they have the “Land Cruiser” badge on the rear hatch black on a black truck?

Black badging should be part of a package for those who want all black.

I, personally, don’t like all black badging. However, some folks do and that’s fine.
It should be gray/chrome as standard and black as an option.

Found these today. I wasn't charged for tax or shipping.
OEM 2024 TOYOTA LAND CRUISER ILLUMINATED DOOR SILLS 4 PC SET
Thanks. I just ordered. They showed a $69 discount twice to make it that $276.
At first it showed $349 and did not tell you that it would be discounted in the cart once you started the checkout process.
So I decided to try it and sure enough it did in fact discount it.
Website is a little sluggish and had to reload pages a few times to get things to work but it did finally.

Is it possible to have both the lighted running boards and the lighted door sills installed? Or do they each need to be plugged into the same port on the wiring harness?
If you haven't found out by now, I noticed they're separate plug-ins when I installed my running board yesterday.

Sorry to revive such an old thread . . . but I'm hoping someone here can give me some advice on installing the lighted door sills.

I'm just not sure how to get the cover off of the pre-installed connector located inside the sill panel. I've poked, prodded. grabbed and twisted without success. The cover seems locked on and I'm not sure exactly how to pull it off. It is so closely held between a white plastic piece and the sheet metal body that there is no way to get behind the connector to release the lock. And the short wiring on the connector and on the lighted sill allows for very little room to maneuver.

How do I get the connector cover off? I've read that some people just break off the cover. But, I'm not sure exactly how or which part to break.

Does anyone have the TIS instructions for this install? I'm sure there's nothing to it after I get the connector cover off.

Thanks.

There should be a small loop/opening on one side (looking from the wire side) inside that opening will be the locking tab from the plug. Use a hook tool or a very small flat bladed screwdriver to depress the tab and pull the plug out. Not a big deal if you damage the loop/opening a little bit as the connector doesn't move and will stay together once you plug in the sill plate. If I remember correctly it was a pain to get out. I didn't secure the connection back to the cavity as it was such a pain.

Thanks, @EOD Guy . After you posted, I took another look and finally was able to find and lift the locking tab, which allowed to cover to be pulled off. FYI, it was a matter of getting a tiny screwdriver under the edge of the tab and lifting it up, rather than pressing down. Before being able to do that, I had to get the connector off its mounting attachment to the white plastic cover. It was just a matter of pulling hard enough to yank it off, since sliding it off was too difficult in the tight space.

I'm very pleased to get the lighted sills working.

Glad it worked out.
