I upgraded my tires from the OEM 265/60 R20 to KO2 275/60 R 20

What should be the impact on my MPG?

I know that my speed should change by about 1.4% but how about my MPG.

Anyone do this modification yet?

Thanks Jack

Too many factories to really say. Depends mostly on your driving style. I went up about 1.8% and took a more aggressive tread and really have not seen much change, about 1 mph not accounting for the odometer error, so really even less.

I’m running 275 70 18 KO3s, E rated and getting about 21.5mpg, so overall difference of about 1.5-2 mpg.

Mine came with the Nitto Ridge Grappler (terrible tires imho) in 265/60-20. I installed 275/60-20 Continental Terrain Contact AT. While these are lighter than the KO2, they are softer and have more resistance. No change in MPG, but my speedometer is more accurate (using GPS) than it was with the Nittos/smaller size. I was literally 2mph off (high) at interstate speeds, now I am closer to 1mph, but not quite there.

I found the same when I put on 275/60R20 snow tires, the speedometer agreed with GPS with that size. I got around 21 MPG, snow tires can have pretty high rolling resistance.

i have two Landcruisers a 2000 and 2016 and upgraded tires on both. I can comment on the 2016 since I drive that quite a bit more ... simply I moved from Dunlop Grandtrek AT23 to Yokohama Geolandar A/T G015 285/60R18 116H, and YES, they look cooler and ride nicely (even in Vermont Snow), BUT MPG dropped from like 19-21 highway to 15-16 highway ... lower than I had expected. Something to think about, but the Dunlop OEM tire was not great in wet weather.
