just removing the side mirror piece! Switching it out with a Japanese blue mirror
Still not exactly sure if you want to unbolt the mirror from the door or just remove the outer cover from the mirror or just remove the glass...........

But here is what I have.

To unbolt the mirror from the door, you'll have to remove the door panel (Mirror removal 3 PDF above)

To remove the door panel you will need to remove:

the window switches trim panel, use a plastic trim tool to pry it up. Once it's loose, disconnect the electrical connectors and set the switches aside.

the trim piece right above/next to the arm rest pull handle, the remove the 2 screws behind it.

the trim panel behind the door opener pull handle and the screw behind it.

Once you have the 3 screws out, start at the rear most bottom edge of the door panel, use a trim tool to start prying off the door panel. Once you can get you fingers under the panel, just give it a sharp yank and work your way around the panel. The top (glass edge) will remain attached until you slide the panel upwards to release it from the door metal edge.

Take a picture of the door lock cables (should be a green one and a white one). It's very easy to confuse which one goes where when you put it back together. The cable keepers just pop out and the cable end is rotated until it slides out the slot. If you get them reversed and close the door you might not get the door open again without major cussing and disassembly (don't ask how I know this).

Once the door panel is off, locate the wire keepers for the mirror wiring and pop them off the door frame. There should be 3 nuts that actually hold the mirror to the door frame.

When putting everything back together, make sure you account for all the white "Christmas Tree" fasteners. If any came off the panel pry the off the door and put them back on the panel before you start putting the panel back in place. Start by dropping the panel back into the window channel, sliding it fwd or backward until the rear most christmas tree fasteners line up with the holes. I normally line up the ones on the rear most edge (towards the rear bumper) as they are the easiest to see. You should be able to feel the fasteners align in the holes, once aligned simply smack it with you hand to seat the fasteners.
