Hood struts for LC250

Pro tip: When you try and place the nut under the fender lip, use a piece of painter's tape one side of a boxed end wrench, then put the nut in the wrench............ really hlps getting the bolt started.
This is a good tip - i just stuck the nut on duct tape, aligned it with the hole and taped it under the lip. i did this because i am CURSED with always dropping stuff under the hood!

Pro Tip #2: when putting in a bolt (vs a nut) Put a single layer of painters tape over the bolt head then force the socket / wrench over the bolt head. The tape acts as a shim but the socket / wrench is easily removed after the threads are engaged.

I bought the ones off the link in Eric's video. I've got a few questions.

Mine did not come with nuts for the new bolts that attache the brackets that go on the fenders. Should it have?

And the new bolt gets installed in a hole that is used by one of the white plastic push-clips for the black fender trim. What did you guys do about that? Just not use that particular white push clip? Did you have to modify the black plastic trim piece at all?

Mine came with all the hardware. Yes just leave that wht fastener off, the blk plastic trim panel doesn't sit exactly flat, but close. I've had no issue so far.

It uses one of the factory fender bolts then it should have had a clip nut and a bolt for where the hole is for the clip. You have to cut the mounting off of the black inner fender trip for the clip to make room for the bracket.

Actually I think it just had a nut and a washer.

After I posted that I realized it did come with some small threaded plates for the extra bolts. They were taped to either end of a metal strip. I at first thought it was altogether supposed to be some sort of limiting strap that you could install. Looked at it closer and realized the metal strip they were taped to was supposed to help when you install it to hold the threaded plates in place.

I was a little concerned about losing one of the mounting clips, but I suppose when the hood is closed it will hold the entirety of the black trim piece in place.
