Kennewick WA
Vehicles
2024 Land Cruiser J250; 2001 Cherokee XJ; 1995.5 V6 Tacoma SR5 (now my son's)
New owner in Kennewick WA; my journey:

Got on three dealer waitlists in April 2024 (Tri-Cities WA, Hermiston OR, Walla Walla WA)

Passed on a couple LC’s, patiently waiting for what I wanted (plan to keep forever, and that is a long time to have regrets because I settled...)

Hermiston was allocated one in July, in the build phase, nicely equipped from the factory/port matching my wish list
  • LC/LC premium, meteor shower, black leather
  • 18’s, upgraded skids
  • NO dash cam
Took delivery on Aug 27, paid MSRP, then
  • Installed Cooper Discoverer Road+trail AT 265/70R18, with new center caps
  • PPF
  • 35% tint on front driver/passenger windows
Totally happy, and my wife informs me that it is her car now (if I want my own toyota I may need to get back the stock V6 1995.5 Taco SR5 I gifted to our son...a sweet truck btw)

Looking forward to seeing other owners on the road, and having this online commutiy is a great resource (thx!)

Best!

Welcome. I'm In your home town tonight. Busy place. My wife will get lots of time behind to wheel tomorrow to get used to the beast. on the way to PR CA. She is not one for automation. I am waiting on 18" rims and have wondered about the Coopers. They look like decent tires for the snow. I got the PPC as well. That's one item my dealer had to offer.

Small world! The coopers seem good so far, now that they are balanced correctly. Had the dealer install them (they matched the price I had elsewhere) . Big mistake... I could tell right away they were way off. two of them were counter-balanced ...Discount tire set it right, free of charge too.

They run realatively quiet for AT's, we usually get some snow so we'll see in a few months how they do.

Safe travels!

Congratulations! And nice look! I used to have a 93 Pickup, put 225k on it and had an offer for $5500. Sold it to a friend for $3k with the caveat that I never wanted to hear about a single thing that broke on it.

😀. My caveat is that my son can only sell the Tacoma back to me...1995 was the first year for the taco, and this one is fully loaded, paradise blue, 200k plus miles and runs like a top

Fellow Washintonian here. Congratulations on your new Land Cruiser! Nice Tacoma also! Those tires look great and purposeful. I have a couple of questions for you if it’s okay to ask.

1. Can you share which brand and series tint you chose? How do you like it and how close does it match the factory tint?

2. By any chance have you noticed any difference in your gas mileage with those tires? I really like how you described that they are quiet. I wouldn’t have expected that from a A/T.

Next month my Meteor Shower LCLC should arrive. First thing I want to do is tint the front windows.

Congrats on your future LCLC 👍

1. The tint is LLumar CTX ceramic. I had it installed by the Hermiston Toyota dealership for $210 (driver and passenger side front windows only). The 35% tint matches the factory tint pretty well. The visibility at night is still good. Best part is the UV reduction ...2hrs on I84 through the columbia gorge with the sun beating down on my arm and you don't even notice...

2. Regarding change in mpg with the Cooper Discoverer AT's, I can't comment because I installed them on day one. Perhaps others on this forum with coopers drove longer with the OEM tires and can chime in...

Here are a couple pics from my garage this AM showing the tint and the tires...the bronze center caps aren't for everyone but IMO look great with meteor shower (aka Avant Garde Bronze)

Thank you for that information and the photos. It looks great and I can’t wait till my LC gets here so I can do the same. I will ask for the same brand and series. Those tires and center caps look awesome. I wish my garage was as organized as yours.

Thanks for the feedback. I wanted a stock tire size and the Coopers are consistently rated as good for noise, plus the 65k mi warranty stacks up well vs other good choices out there ... but this is always going to be relative to what you're used to driving and comes down to personal experience ... an A/T tire will never be whisper quiet. For me, I'm impressed and no regrets so far
