I have the same issue. Thanks for doing the research!Does anyone have issues with the heated seats? Mine don’t feel very warm at all. I know it’s summer but we loved our heated seats to keep our back warm early in the morning or on road trip. Planning to bring into a local dealership to have it check.
Updated: Brought my LC to local Toyota dealership. Service guy told me they have to order the ac controller board because it show that there was limited voltage. The part has been ordered but it’s on backorder.
I would agree that once down into the 20's, teens and below the seats and the wheel are noticeably warmer if not hot compared to less frigid weather - certainly warm enough to make driving comfortable while waiting on the engine to get up to operating temperature. I don't know if that is just me sensing the differential between colder air and the heating elements or if they are actually warmer because the truck is sensing the ambient temp and pushing more current. They seem to work fine in cold weather (real cold weather, not 45F). I think they are linked to ambient temperature or the current cabin temperature.
They get warm enough for me however my kids... well..., they'll have no worries about getting hemorrhoids. My F-350 Platinum has seat warmers in the back but not my Land Cruiser.I live where it's COLD, SNOWY, ICY winter for what feels like 11 months of the year, and I find my heated seats are fine. I typically shut them off, or put on low within 10 minutes in the vehicle.
Plus, if the heat's too hot, you can get hemorrhoids.
