Anyone experiencing their fan turning on all the time? Mine cycles on and off constantly, even in temps as low as the mid-30's and after pulling off the road after a mellow drive. It stays on for maybe 20 seconds and shuts off and then will turn on again a minute later. Is this cause for concern, or just the way it is?

I noticed some fan noise from the back, probably from the traction battery, yesterday inside my garage. the car was sitting for a good 4 hours.

Mine does that when the HVAC is on... fan cycles on and off (30 seconds or so on.... 10 or so seconds off). If I turn off the HVAC completely it doesn't cycle (or come on at all).

I am not sure if that is a feature (cycles for energy saving) or a bug (something funky is going on).

The HVAC runs off the traction battery, which has it's own separate under-hood cooling system. My guess that is what you are hearing, at least that's what I hear when waiting in the pick-up line at G-Baby's school.

Thank you for the replies. I will try turning off the HVAC system next time I drive my truck.

I’ve been hunting a lot lately, driving through the woods at 5-10 mph. I hear the fan kicking on and off all the time as well.

Well, it worked. Hitting the Off button on the HVAC kills the fan I’m hearing, turning back on and I hear it cycle on and off as described in my initial post.

Thanks!
