That red cap over the positive terminal could be a real bitch to open. Plus the trim panel over the battery can be a pain. But for hooking up a non-permanent tire compressor, I love not having to pop the hood. This solution works perfectly for me. I salvaged the alligator clips on the compressor by soldering a quick connect to them too. That way, I can still help friends in need and use it f

I would be more interested in finding a way to plug the air compressor into the 120v; anyone know of a way to do this with Thor Lightning?

Sure! So, I used these quick connects from Amazon. https://a.co/d/6oSDrqP.

They sell them in pairs. There's a 60cm pair and a 30cm pair. I purchased one of each. You'll need the 60cm length to reach from your battery up into the bottle jack compartment. All I did there was attach the quick connect to the battery terminals and zip tied the cables out of the way while routing it up into the bottle jack area. From there, it can be easily accessed.

On the compressor, I just cut off the alligator clips. Be sure to keep track of which wire is positive and which is negative. Then, I simply replaced the alligator clips with the other quick disconnect via soldering.

You can stop there if you want, but if you buy a second set of quick disconnects, you can use one of them to solder onto the alligator clips that you had previously cut off. That way, you can still use your compressor on other vehicles that don't have a quick disconnect. After all that, you'll have one leftover quick disconnect. Let me know if there's some other tool I might want to connect directly to 12v DC! I'd be interested!

I hard wired in an Anderson plug and run my compressor off of it.

This was mainly because I have the ADGU drawer system coming in next week, and think it will interfere with my access to the battery.

That looks super clean. I may do that If I end up not liking it nestled in with the bottle jack.
