one day I will find someone to pay for a slimmer door panel mod. relocating the window switches to the top of the panel. I feel like this should've been done in the first place. not always, but at times as 6'2" guy with bigger thighs, I find myself a little uncomfortable being able to manspread my legs coming from a full size truck. anyone else?

This is me at 6’ 230# sitting in one in the showroom. I didn’t find it too bad, but I perhaps expected something closer to full size truck room, which I miss, than compact suv room like the one I have now. I kept going back & forth between the LC & the Tundra they had beside it.

There’s more spread out room, though the tundra seems to have an odd footwell for spreading out, much like my current car. Narrower than you’d think. The seats aren’t really any larger either, so I didn’t seem for a few mins of sit time to find the Tundra much better than the LC.

Of course the fact that I’m not driving this LC (which was exactly how I’d have ordered one if you could) means I wasn’t quite ready to make such a large decision just then.

yeah its not bad most of the time. I'd say my thighs are a lil bit more chunky than yours but the 2 design elements they could've done differently are the window controls moved to that top panel and the high center console in general but more specifically the MTS panel that blocks my other knee from poking out.

Its okay, I like the LC so much that I will have to invest in some Ozempic to make it a lil more spacious.

mine is in the shop right now getting a kill switch installed and i'm driving a very tiny bronco sport but the knee width is so much better.
Edit* I didnt realize you drive a bronco sport lol. no slander intended!

In exact same boat and came from a GMC Sierra AT4X AEV. I've adjusted after a month and now sit with my legs more forward. You will adapt after time. I own a 1958 and have the padded console bolsters arriving tomorrow.

thank you for confirming I am not crazy lol. Coming from a Ram 1500 Rebel and I could do the splits in that thing.

Haha yes, I’m in a Bronco Sport as well & didn’t find the LC as much bigger as I was expecting. I consider the BS too small save for short city driving where it excels. That’s what I evaluated it for when I did the test drive, but I do believe it’s very tiny. I still wish I had my F150 for highway drives. I’m hoping the LC is the right compromise to still be small enough in the city but comfortable enough on the highway.

I wonder about the high center console. Is that a function of being a BOF true 4x4? What I’m concerned about is if I want something closer to full size truck room in a mid size package, I’ll have to go unibody crossover, like the new forthcoming Honda Passport. I’m wondering if the LC just can’t be packaged with any more interior room for the given exterior dimensions because of BOF construction?

Oh & Ozempic is great too BTW.

I think the center console is pretty immovable because the hybrid engine is under there. Otherwise they probably would have made a lower front section similar to the BS where your knee can stick out

That was the first thing I complained about when I test drove my LC. My old 4runner had a much wider leg room. At 6.3 250 I thought it would be a big pain point.
But didn't take long for me to get used to it. My consolation in this regard is the adaptive cruise on long trips. I can rest my legs however I want and let the car cruise. If I need to change the speed I push the controls with my thumb. I drove it for a 7 hour road trip and this issue never crossed my mind.

My only complaint is the small gas tank, otherwise this is the best car I've ever had.

Thanks for weighing in guys. Honestly space & comfort are probably my top priorities when looking at my next car, so appreciate hearing all experiences.
 
I didn’t like the front seat leg width area either when I test drove and I am much shorter and smaller in size. Good luck. I thought the console on the right was the most limiting problem.

Narrowness coupled with all black interior amplifies the feeling of being closed in. My Highlander is feels better.
 
6'1", 230, coming from a JLU, and find the LC much more comfortable all around. I do 4-7 hour trips a couple times a month and like mentioned earlier, set the adaptive cruise and relax. I have the FE though with padding on the right leg side so that might make a difference (not sure what other models have that, also looks like you can order them).

Good to know it works for longer road trips! I haven’t done a road trip in my current car longer than an hour in quite some time. I could & have done 8hr road trips if I have to. My goal is to find a car that can do those 8+hr days, maybe even a couple in a row, without going to a full size truck size. I did think the seats in the LC when I sat in it felt like nice high quality supportive seats for longer times.
 
Can someone get a width measurement at knee ht? Just curious to compare to my Highlander. TIA.

My goal is to find a car that can do those 8+hr days, maybe even a couple in a row, without going to a full size truck size. Heading out in half an hour for a trip from NW PA to southcentral PA, about 7 hours round trip if the traffic and weather cooperate. The LC makes it easy. One thing I really like is the extender on the front seat at the bottom. You can pull it out and get a more support under your legs just before the underside of your knees - nice feature.

Safe travels! Thanks for the tip, I didn’t realize or recall that was a thing when sitting in the LC in the showroom. Seems to be a great idea for folks with longer legs.
