I like to keep my heavy duty Thule bike rack on my car and fold it up when there aren't bikes on it. The downside to this is any time you put the LC into Reverse, the warning sirens blasts the entire time.

It's quite unsettling - as it is supposed to be.

I was able to disable the automatic breaking that was also occurring but I can't find a way to turn off the siren.

Any ideas?

Thanks!
Mike

It’s the “Intuitive Parking Assist”, and according to page 338 of the owners manual can be shut off, though it doesn’t do a good job of explaining how (and I didn’t investigate further)

The first time I backed up my LC with the trailer hitched up, I thought the end of the world had come. As I contemplated how to disable everything I found myself wondering if it is illegal to back a trailer in Japan. With those kinds of nannies it really makes one reconsider life choices.....
