It’s been about a month with the new Land Cruiser and I can not do more than 17.6 per gallon when it is supposed to be 25 on highway and I been pumping premium gas since day one , any suggestions?

What highway speeds are we speaking of?

Multiple threads on the same subject is not gonna increase your mileage. 😉

I came on here to say the same thing. I have 700 miles currently on ODM, have filled it with premium only and I have the stock tires. I drive like a grandma. The last fill consisted of 50% city/50% highway driving. I have it set on ECO 100% of the time. I just filled it up again and I calculated 17.2 mpg (249 miles, 14.458 gallons of gas). At the very least, I should be getting 23 mpg. I wouldn't have been too bothered by this, EXCEPT the tank is tiny at 15 gallons and the range is just as sad as an electric vehicle. When it's full, I get a range of ONLY 280 miles. Had I known, I would have just gotten the bronco where it is 17 mpg and a 21-gallon tank with a V6 and at least I'd have a range of 360 miles. My last car, a BMW X5, got an average of 21 mpg...for a V6 and it weighs nearly 1K pounds more.

I have been in touch with the dealer several times about this and was just told, use premium, keep it in ECO mode, wait for it to break in. I love the car, so far, but this is my biggest gripe. Why is it even a hybrid at this point?

In this vehicle, the hybrid is for added HP and torque.

The Car Care Nut did a video a few years ago on how the hybrid system can be used to maximize your MPG. I posted it elsewhere in this forum, under its own thread.

I think this is it…

I got 28 mpg without trying (basically in cruise control without the ECO mode). Even if I get 5 mpg less due to weather etc, I would still get 450 miles from one tank.

That’s doing ~45 MPH?…

It is county road driving with 60MPH speed limit. There are several town in between, so the average speed drops due to stop and go traffic and traffic lights.

Hybrid for power not fuel - rt now I agree with ur dealer based on my experience. I was in ur shoes, idk why but as I got more miles it keeps improving, or I’m learning how to drive it .. if u actually love ur LC.. I certainly love mine, give it some time and maybe u will see the increases like everyone else. I will say traffic doesn’t hurt
