Can you request the dealer to NOT drill in the front license plate frame?

i kno the bimmer dealerships give you the option to not have the front plate drilled on. Does Toyota do the same?

I like the clean look of no front plate. Plus, I like riding dirty 😝

I suppose it depends on the dealer.

I asked mine to not drill holes, and they didn't give me any pushback. I'm going to check in once it gets closer to delivery, just to make sure they didn't forget.

Did not have mine drilled, but used a couple of layers of 2-side tape to put it on. It'll probably damage/weather the front bumper, either way. Better than getting pulled over on a random friday night after two beers.

Just made the same request to my salesman, my state does not require them, and I wasn't sure if his state did.
He told me no front plate needed, so no holes.

Mine was drilled even after asking to not have that happen. I removed the plate and frame and installed two small round black plugs to fill the holes and it worked out pretty well.

Same thing happened to me, dealership drilled the holes even after I reminded them twice. They compensated for the mistake by not charging me for the front end PPF package (hood, bumper, fenders, A-pillars and mirrors) πŸ‘

The front plate doesn't bug me as much as I thought it would, don't even notice now.

If any of you got your front license plate mounted but don't want/need one, then I suggest removing the plate but keeping the OEM mounting bracket. The mountain bracket surprisingly looks quite good, as if it belongs on the front bumper. The black plastic matches, and the 4 screws actually give off a bit of a rugged appearance. I personally feel it looks better than having two plugged holes.

Costs nothing to try for a week or so.
