Brakes Squeal

I have over 8k miles and my front squealing brakes wake the next door neighbors. Ridiculous!! Brought to dealership and they couldn’t reproduce noise (because it was warmed up). I’ve had lots of new cars and never had such an annoying sound. They didn’t say Toyota was aware of anything…sad

I looked for the Lexus GX550 TSB on the brake squeal issue. It might be helpful to have a copy when speaking to a dealer about the same issue on the LC. I found a reference to Lexus TSIB # L-SB-0036-24 and a blurry screen shot copy on the iH8mud forum, but not a good enough copy to print.

Still looking . . .here's the screen shot copy:

Even my neighbors dog who is deaf looks at me angry when I back out of my garage. Hurry up Toyota and don't piss around with this problem. I'm pretty sure we have a pattern set if they are interested.

I just had a very annoying conversation with a brand engagement manager who told me to keep mentioning it during regular service intervals.

LOL. Maybe I'll mention also how much I paid for these loud ass brakes too.

At my recent 10k service appointment the tech was somewhat apologetic about the issue. Said they are also waiting for the TSB and have had numerous complaints but that i could make a separate appointment and they would try to remedy it indeoendent of the TSB. Maybe he was blowing smoke but it felt good to get some acknowledgement from the dealer. Reading the tea leaves it seems like an inevitably there will eventually be a tsb.

Hey all. I have been having the same issue with my LC FE, shockingly loud screeching of the brakes in reverse. Also started after a few thousand miles. It was driving me nuts. I just took it in for first 5k mile service and mentioned it. I’ve attached a photo of the work done. It’s been a couple days since the service and so far no more squealing. Not sure how durable this fix will be but I’m cautiously optimistic. Thought I would share in case it is helpful for others. Cheers.

I finally got to the Toyota mechanics and they said Toyota knows about this and are working on a solution. Until then I started backing into the driveway to stop waking up the neighborhood at 5am.

Welp, mine started doing this today around mile 800–only in reverse. She spends most of her life in a cold, humid underground parking garage at sea level and hadn’t been driven in a few days.

Hopefully that TSB is released soon!

Yup, mine did. I brought it into Toyota service and they didn’t find any dust or debris. They said it’s likely because there is some condensation from being parked outdoors overnight. I’m here in Seattle and it was warm with some humidity and cooler at night. I’m inclined to believe them since it doesn’t seem to happen when I park in my garage.
I park inside, very dry at times here in Utah since I bought this in August. been doing it since I bought it and still does it all the time. Annoying.

Mine squeal loud in the morning, engine popping rattling noise only in cold start till warmed up. Jerky, rough shifts...need some work
