Brakes Squeal

I’m at about 3500 now and heard the slightest squeak backing out last night. Going to pay attention to wife backing out this morning. Yippie!

Has this carried over to the 2025 models? I'm in a 2025 and I haven't experienced it yet, but I'm only at 1000 mi.
I have a 2025 with about 800 miles. Mine has started. Doesn’t do it every time, probably 4 or five times so far.

2024 1958. it's done it since it was new and I just hit 7000 miles. I live in the PNW and it will do it every single time. If I drive in reverse multiple times and use the brakes while reversing it does go away.

I'm at 6,400 miles and mine started squealing recently. The local Toyo dealership provided some stupid rationale but I've probably owned 30 cars and none has ever squealed, nor does my J62 (1988) squeal. This is a real issue with the J250 and Toyota needs to fix it.

Does anyone else exerience brakes squeel in reverse? Mine seems to do it mostly after it has sat for a while. I only notice it in reverse.
I do as well, under 5,000 miles. It only happens after I’ve been driving in the rain, garages overnight, and backing out of my driveway. And it’s not every time. It only after wet driving and then sitting over night. Not if I come and go a few times throughout the day.

Hi all, I also have this issue. I have 2K miles and am waiting to take it in until a known fix is available. I called my local dealer and they haven’t heard about it.

There are so many people who have posted about the problem, but I’m yet to hear anyone has had their issue resolved.

Are there any resolutions out there?

There's at least one post in this thread about the dealer repairing the rotor and fixing the problem.

Within spec according to my dealer

That is the same sound I get. Hard to tell how your audio is, but I will tell you mine is 10 times louder. Like wakes neighbors up. Fortunately they are all light hearted about it! But they give me grief often. "Someday you will be able to buy a nice car that doesn't squeal....."

My Toyota shop that I bought it from told me it's a known issue but nobody knows how to fix it. They didn't even look at it when I brought it in. Just told me they would call when they get info on how to fix. Quite a while ago.

Had the same issue on my Tundra before trading it in on my LC. There was a service bulletin to change out front rotors and brake pads and mounting hardware. After that no more squeal. It was just coming from the front end when backing up. This was a known issue with 2022-2024 Tundra's. The service bulletin was number T-SB-0043-24

Fresh off the press - A SERVICE BULLETIN has either just come out or is about to come out regarding the 250 LC BREAK SQUEAL!!! I just got a call from the Toyota mothership brand representative asking me if the dealership has been in contact with me yet (I put in a complaint to the mother ship), and that the mothership is going to call me back to make sure the dealer resolves the issue. The rep said that a service bulletin was either just released or is about to come out.

I have an additional 100+ videos of my brake squealing I was willing to use. I regret assuming they were adults and would make an effort to fix such a significant problem in a timely manner.

It’s blame the driver time, or it was. Sorry, but it’s the car. Just fix it.
