Haven’t tried yet. Still thinking whether it’s worth the effort. Were you able to put the screws back in to seal up the holes?
I have some OEM rails but not all the connector bolts. I'm trying to order those various bits from parts dealer but I'm having a hard time figuring out everything needed. Would you happen to have taken a picture(s) of your rails and pieces before you mounted them, or anything that may show process? I've researched this a lot and seen several videos of people removing them, but I never get a good or complete look at the parts. Thank you so much!I added the OEM roof rails to my 1958 this afternoon. Install took about an hour. I got the rails used from a forum members, and since the foam/mastic on the contact points around the bolt holes is supposed to be single-use, I put black RTV silicone around them and on the bolt threads. Hoping it stays nice and waterproof. Did the same on an OEM Tacoma rack and never had a problem. Once the silicone cures, I'll be throwing on Thule Wingbars / Rapid Crossroad feet (the kind with the rubber coated steel straps for raised rails).
