May I ask what size tires did you replace on your 1958 without doing a lift? I have an issue with the stock 245s as I cannot find any replacements in that size. I'm looking for a more off-road tire but no company makes them in the stock 245 size. I tried to go wider but Costco won't sell me tires other than what the vehicle size is stating.

Greetings. I replaced the stock 1958 tires with Yokohama AT4 Tires in a size LT275-70R18 (Load E). This tire is approx 1.8 inch larger in diameter and approx 1.4 inch wider than the stock 245-70R18 tires. I have plenty of clearance and have taken the truck off road with no issues. My only word of caution about going with bigger tires is to keep in mind that you will need to put a matching size spare tire under the vehicle which will reduce your ground clearance. I have done some research however and found a size for the spare that is "close enough" to the diameter of the 275-70R18 and that size is 245-75R18 (for the spare). Yokohama makes this size in the same tire (AT4) and the diameter is approx 0.7 inches smaller. You can of course fit a 275-70R18 under the car, but since it is an 11 inch wide tire, you will lose about an inch of ground clearance. Good luck with your search....hope this helps.

Thank you. I appreciate your response; it helps a lot. I'll just order that size from Discount tire as they will not give me any grief with moving away from stock.

Glad to help...let me know if you have any other questions.
