Looking at tires currently and wondering if anyone has experience with the Toyo AT3 34x10.5 D load or their 285/75/17 C load?

The weight of these tires interest me quite a bit:

Toyo AT3 34x10.5 17” D load 55lbs
Nitto Terra Grappler G3 285/70/17 SL load 48lbs

I love mine and after trying 3 different sets of tires, these were the winners. Great for my use (mostly dry desert application and daily driver) I gain half an inch of height (1 inch taller than OEM tire). They are more narrow than the 285 (which I love) and get the same MPG as my OEM size Toyo at3's I ran for a few thousand miles. The spare fits perfectly with little drop (did I mention I like the more skinny tire). On top of it all with the +35 method rims it sits inside the wheel well, if just barely. IMO it is the perfect tire for the LC.

Right on! So, just to verify you went with the 34x10.5 D load Toyota AT3? If I get these I’d also be mounting them on a set of method 703 +35 offset wheels.

Any noticeable hits to ride quality?

I went from a 265 70 18 SL AT3 (Toyo) to a 34 10.5 17 AT3 D rated and didn’t notice a ride quality difference. I actually prefer the ride with the bigger tire.

Nice! I appreciate the photos and your insight into the tires. They look good and it’s nice that theyre basically pizza cutters as well.
