Posted similar story in "real world mpg" but wanted to share here as well.
LC Edition, premium package, 18 inch stock wheels, roof cross bars (removed them)
Dallas to Table Rock Lake area. Last section (70 miles) is through hills of nw AR.
This is the first I have REALLY driven the LC.
First, I drove it around town and down the highway for about 50 miles. The roof cross bars were way to much wind resistance so I removed them when I got home (took 5 minutes). Great to have them but no reason to keep them on there if nothing is attached to them, plus it looks cleaner without them- just my opinion.
Driving around town I was getting 12.9 mpg. So I posted it in the "real mpg" thread to ask if I was missing something and it was mentioned to reset to 0 since it could have been idling at port. So I reset. Also, noticed under settings there is a braking option, with or without hybrid. It defaulted to without so I switched to with.
To the road trip.
First this thing is super comfortable and rides so great. Handles bumps, potholes almost like they are not there. (I have owned a used car dealership and have driven everything from a Ford suv to a range rover, macan etc and this was just as comfortable).
The set up to me is nice. Coming from a macan that had 900 buttons (that were static and not touch screen- which I love) this had that same touch feel but a lot more condensed which to me was great. Easy access to all your necessities without having to flip through a screen (but available on screen if you prefer).
Wireless android is effortless, once set up connects every time.
Telescoping steering wheel and moving seats when you exit is nice.
Blind spot monitoring is great.
Second, the drivers assist feature is terrific. Set it to 81 mph, shortened the distance and turned on steering assist. When I got into the curves I rested my hand on the wheel so I knew I was there and then let the LC takeover. It did great about slowing down when coming up on a car and speeding back up when the distance was clear. The steering handled all of the curves effortlessly but it was slightly choppy.
Third, the ac is great. The big round vents work terrific. Temperatures outside were 100. Inside had the ac set to 70 and only using 2 bars of push. (Granted I have my front windshield tinted with a 70% ceramic tint- which I highly reccomed- it is clear so legal in TX and knock out a lot of heat and uv). My wife asked me "what is the outside temp" I said "100" she said "damn it feels really good in here I thought it was going to be about 85"
Fourth, clearance and site lines are great. Never felt as if I could not see my surroundings. Even if there was any chance the blind spot monitoring and the 360 camera eliminate any concern.
Next, mpg averaged out to 21.9mpg. Dramatically better than the 12.9 I had intially. This was city of Dallas driving and then majority of highway miles at 80mph in eco mode (edit- remioved braking statement as i misspoke. I stayed in eco mode the whole time and never had an issue passing or pulling onto the highway after a stop. Plenty of torque in this vehicle.
Lastly, I had my wife in front with me amd her sister in the back. They blabbed the whole time so I would turn up the jbl stereo and it is clear and clean- but they would just talk louder. So even 6 hours of that I am still super stocked about how great this was on the road. Looking forward to posting an "off road" experience soon.
My one negative- gas tank is way too small.
TLDR
Awesome comfort and ride
Great ac
Seemless android auto
Terrific self driving
Great torque even in eco mode
Mpg - reset. Avg 21.9mpg at highway speeds of 80 in eco mode
Gas tank too small (off top of my head I think my range was 283- ugh)
