    Cargo hatch damage when opening?

First thing we did on all of our garages was glueing soft padding material and pool noodles to the ceiling, grarage door and side walls to avoid exactly that. The "raise height" will inevitably get messed up by a reset after a service appointment or even just randomly and then it's too late.

Turn off all interior lights with door or tailgate open?

I wish there was an option to open and close the car doors or even unlock and lock without any lights or sounds. If you are at a campground and sleep in the car or if you just need to get something from the car you usually wake up the entire neighborhood. So far I haven't seen a car that has a...

Hello! New LC moved from electric

The depreciation sounds horrible. Sorry for that. But I think you’re still lucky because as soon as there is an even slightly improved battery technology (silicone anodes might be coming soon) the value of EVs and PHEVs will drop like a stone. Some battery improvements are expected in the next...

    Dealer Negotiations

Tat's an interesting point. However, i thought you gain only 1" sidewall when going from 20 to 18" wheels as it's the diameter and only the part on the ground matters, is that correct? Also, when I looked at the 20" stock rims and tires it at least visually looked to me that you can easily hit a...

Probably a dumb question... do you swap out the spare too?

Sullivan tire here charges 25 bucks for a tire rotation. If the dealers aren’t willing to do it then I’m sure a tire shop does it for a few bucks more and a tip.

Car Camping in the LC250 Video

Not sure but I thought the campgrounds here in the northeast don’t allow you to run a car engine during the night due to noise concerns. Camping in the wilderness in a car is not really an option here as there is not much wilderness left in New England that would be accessible by car and remote...

    Hit and Run :(

Go to police even if it’s mostly useless. Go through insurance and insist on original parts. Then depending on what the insurance does ( they might just pay it and do nothing further) I would contact the company and try to get the driver fired just out of principle. Also leave incident on their...

    Winch

Yeah but I don’t think many LCs will need a 200 foot pull. I guess the people who go into deep mud or trenches go for more dedicated off-road vehicles.

    Winch

Ugh that seems a quite involved process for a winch. For people who rarely go off-roading it might make sense to use a hitch mounted portable winch. This has the advantage that you don’t have to carry the winch all the time. You just put it into the trunk when needed. Still means that connecting...

    Semi-nude Cargo Area

looks like it is a more or less straight forward task to have the battery swapped out in 8-10 years from now for the ones who want the LC to run for 15 or more years. I don't understand why they didn't move the battery all the way towards the rear seat and make the easy to access cargo cubby at...

How to remove front air dams?

Toyota Austria gives for the 2.8L Diesel with 205 horsepower a max speed of 175km/h. That is 109 mph. Given that the hybrid in the US has 325hp I think 120mph seems reasonable.

How to remove front air dams?

Yep, on german highways this truck runs up to 120mph. So I can't imagine it is unstable at US speeds even without the air dams.

Oil and Filter Change, easy peasy.

My 10 year old jeep picks them simply up every time I swap winter and summer tires. I have always had separate sets on rims with TMPS for winter and summer season. I usually buy the TMPS that Tire rack recommends when I buy the rims (150 bucks or so). Even for the cars before that (VW, Toyota...

Just installed the Toytec 1.5" Front Leveling Spacer Kit

This a heavy tires. They are 34" diameter. That would give the LC over 9 inch clearance. Did you get a spare as well and does it fit under the car?

    Photos of Gas Tank?

Maybe there is some crash test rating that they can achieve with a smaller tank and the channel in the middle. Also, does an aftermarket fuel tank void the warranty?

    Winch

Looks to me this is a 1958. I wonder if the winch would fit onto a Landcruiser LC or first edition as they have the sway bar disconnect system in that area. Also it seems to make the approach angle a bit worse and scoop up mud and sand. It looks great though.

I’m ready to pull the trigger on a LC but…..

I'm about to buy one as well. However I can wait. And since I don't want to pay for add on's I don't need I decided to wait. Not sure if I buy one when I find one with my desired feature set or if I wait until they announce 2025 updates. I don't expect any changes for 2025, but rather only minor...

Guns and Landcruisers... Hot Topic... Not for every one!

I think colorado just passed a law that guns in cars need to be in lock boxes. Other states have similar laws. Given that it is a land cruiser that is meant for road trips it might be a good idea to have an aftermarket lockbox early on. Because at some point you will need it and then you won't...

    No chains on first edition

Thanks for the link. Yes, i saw several reviews (hopefully real ones) where they where quite good. If you rarely ever need them then they are a way cheaper alternative. In most cases when I was visiting in CO and snow chains were required we had no issue driving and never really needed to put...

Stock land cruiser goes down Black Bear Pass in Telluride CO

Just saw this video. Not sure if somebody already posted it. But if a stock LC can do this on stock tires then 99.9% of owners have to never worry about the LC not being capable enough off road.😎

    Round headlights after the FE?

I never understood the excitement about the round headlights. I think the square ones look just as nice. I would assume that headlights are very expensive parts and Toyota will move away from carrying two different types. Add to that that they would have to have different fronts, separate...

    Anyone purchasing below MSRP?

Here in the boston area are some MSRP dealers and some that charge 5k markup. However, I had a Traildust LC with premium package and steps and 20" wheels that I could buy instantly for a 5k markup (71k MSRP, 76k with Markup). I didn't want to do that as I had to pay the 5k markup plus replacing...

    Navigation system

Does the Land Cruiser have a traditional on board navigation system or do you have to use your phone and Waze/google maps? I normally prefer an onboard system as it doesn’t depend on cell phone reception or downloaded maps on your phone.
